I'd personally would wait since you technically would have the same look as you have now and if they make some nice looking tails, you'll only have to pay for them once...

Member of forums and/ or clubs are pouring in with the same requests. And the answer is yes, we have development plans for this item. OK, im back, and wow to much info to post but ill stick with the basics, and sorry no pics yet (i did get to see the prototype, but could not take pictures of it, it was cad drawing and ipcw's ceo was holding it on his hands, i did not even ask about taking pics because i know i would prolly refuse, wich i understand), we do have to led circles although the upper one is almost the same diameter as the one in the bottom, they are extruded to be on a flat surface, (sort of like the altima lights but much nicer), the back up light ended up in the middle of the small circle.
some other good news, ill be showing up there in about a month to do a fitment of the actual prototype, wich is manufactured over seas. and guys, IPCW, has a bunch of suprises coming this year, (and they are gooood looking.) i wont say anything for now, but trust me they are right on the money, specially if you have a sports compact, (Besides the max of course. ), I try to get pictures of the prototype if they allow me.

To all of you who kept sending emails to them, thanks, he told me was going to pull the plug on this things because of the high costs involved, with the R&D, due to the shape of our lights, but because he liked them so much and there was an overwellming amount of interest on this lights he gave the green light!

Looks like this light are going to be here sooner than expected.

 

until i see a finished product...a physical test product made and going into production like Taz and the Strut bar...it is all still just talk. its business lingo for "leave me alone...we'll get to it as soon as we have time"

but i really do hope that they do push at the production. shyt. i think we've waited long enough.

 

i dont think they want us to leave them alone, because they were the ones that called me this morning to go up there., trust me when i say they are really interested on this lights.

 

Did they happen to mention costs? Hopefully they'll mass produce and not make a few at a time like some others...

 

Nice. It sounds pretty promising so far. Are the tails clear red like the stocks, or clear? That would be the deciding factor for me.

well, he just said high costs in R&D, wich might transfer to higher than average tail light, but no he did not mention final cost. when i say high cost r&d i mean +200k, with an average light costing 150k...it might seem like a lot, but if you think about it does add up, we are talking professionally done ligths not a garage brand. (sell 300 pairs at ~350= $105'000 allready so, it ads up i guess, considering there are at least 300 000 maximas out there.)
i gave me a whole explanation on why his product is better compare to the onther led lights allready on the market for our maximas, wich "can damage your electrical system, including your ecu", and that happens because their led boards are not designs to work perfectly with our electronics. he even mention an instance where a cruise control was damaged.

Just bear with me it looks like everything will happen within the next couple months. Ill get as much info as possible, i dont want to make any statements, until i have the real facts.



As for the lense, the cad drawings didnt really showed, they only showed how the guts of the light look, and yes it will be a decing factor for many people, so ill make sure he is aware of that, remeber this is the prototype so the color of the lens is still up in the air, as for the inside of the light im pretty sure theyll offer different options, like chrome, gunmental or black.

 

I agree with the above, I really think clear would pump up the "rice" factor severely. I am appreciative that they are putting the effort into something for us, but i REALLY hope.............

im still around guys! its all in the nissan familiy, and yes they are making this, im still waiting for the prototype to come in, last email i received from them was about a week ago stating that they will be in pretty soon, so lets just wait and see.
Its likely that i will be showing you the proto next month!,

its in May right?, if so most likely, i've got to fix the 240 though, got into a fender bender and the bags poped on me , so they ended up totaling my car wich im fighting and reading a lot of contracts to keep it with me, as we speak. if not Lets hope i still have the max then wich i still dont want to sell but i need a truck

more and more, auto insurance companies are totaling cars when the air bags deploy, has happened to a few people I know(with cars that are close to 10 or 10+ years old). It sucks though because the damage looks minimal.

Well if you part it out lmk. if not good luck.
I think the reason is cause you have the kouki front end, and insurance doesnt want to pay for imported parts.
