The factory turbos that are making real power on various platforms will be well wrapped, Turbo's will make heat, a lot of it, heat in the engine bay is your enemy, protecting wires, rubber hose, etc can never hurt!!! Heat shielding the turbo also improves the efficiency and performance of it...

T.I.'s lawyers couldn't make a case for that one(for me to my girl).

$5100+ fab, + tranny rebuild? That's about 10 grand.

The way i see it, "Where else can you get a car as comfy, sporty and luxurious as a Maxima and puts out that much power for $10k?".

Okay, so it's oversimplifying and doesn't factor in the cost of the car and existing mods. But then again, you already have those anyway, and you'll never get as much of it back if you part out and sell.

I will probably start by saying "honey, the total project will cost about 2,000 bucks, but there is an unprobable chance that it may run overbudget". :

Actually the way it went down was I walked in the room, told my wife I was dropping 5K on a turbo upgrade, before her mouth could open, I slapped 5g's on the table and said this is your spending money also. So even though this set me back close to 10K++ she has never asked me one question about it...

And she won't, I work hard and make her happy...

What more can I say that hasn't already been Chris, i don't know much about turbos so I can't comment much on that. Everything looks really clean though, and I tip my hat off to you for taking the max this far....What most people don't know is that you've probably spent close to 20k on your car given the mods and extensive work you've had done prior to starting this on just about every single part of your car.

You really need to get the word out to some of those tuning magazines and even some car shows because you deserve it for not only your "investment" in your car, but your hands-on approach in everything you've done here...You didn't just write a check and turn over your car to a tuning company but (just like with RLM) you were there during every single part the install and fab process, getting your hands dirty and in there for the real thing. Kudos to you man.

Hi Chern...I'm a bit slow and late responding here but better late than never. I've been going nuts with two jobs. Congratulations on a real fine set-up! Looks so hot the monitor flamed! I would love to see the Dyno runs. This just in: I heard that APEXi the people that make the SAFC and NEO have just filed for bankruptcy in Japan. Did anyone else hear about this and is it true?

Chris, next time we have a major Tuner Car show up here in Montreal, would you be interested in coming here? It would be nice to see this car and meet you in person!

345 but what I'm looking at is the torque and how early it peaks; might be hard to produce in a single turbo setup.

Always wanted to visit our Canadian brothers, just keep me updated and I will see how my schedule pans out. On a side note, I guess getting a turbo was good timing because with the install I actually had to remove my APEXi Super AFC-II... Peace and thanks for the props...

People also said headers could not be installed without modification or a Turbo could not be dropped in a 6th gen max, we now know those statements are nothing but B/S don't we...

In articles I read they stated the 335i is the best bang for the buck and even M3 owners need to watch and take notice!!! I almost bought one so I know!!!
