Not to argue with you Fast but I thought it did. Filter material is difffernet and might make a difference in flow?

This is actually a great subject. We had something similar going on awhile back when I was looking at the Apexi high flow filters. I'll see if I can digup the link that had ratings for 3 or 4 different types of filters. However if you have an Injen or Fujita it's always safe to stay with their replacement filters as a safe bet. Some folks on here also use the K&N recharge kit to clean their filters and/or blow them out with air.

I just bought an extra 1 from Fujita, easier to put the new 1 on and clean the old 1, Im coming up on 30k on the CAI filter but I've read you can go 45-60k before you clean it but I'll check to see what it looks like.

Only thing Im slightly confused on is the Fujita CAI came with a filter that had a very lite film of oil on it and the 1 I ordered as a backup is completely dry

Surface area matters more than ID.

I use K&N, always have, always will. Even if it's not a genuine K&N, but is gauze like filter, I'll use it. I made my best pass on the dyno using an AutoZone ricer aisle cheapo cone filter.

My 4th gen uses a Stillen POP, and when I get bored, a drop in K&N goes in the stock airbox, same for my 5th gen. Combined mileage of ~ 200k, and I've only gone through one MAF sensor, and that was on my 4th gen @ 210K, so Seems like a good ratio.

I trust K&N and use the rest of my time, energy and money doing and worrying about more important things.

I'd buy one that you don't have to clean or oil. Just toss it and put new one in.

If you don't know how to use the cleaner/oil combo you will screw up your MAF

I don't necessarily disagree with you Xoomer, but the CAI air filters aren't exactly cheap.

I know they aren't (they are expensive if you ask me) but much cheaper then MAF sensors.

Like I said, if you know what you are doing as far as cleaning/oiling then its one thing. From what I've seen myself some people don't.
