and i asked this be4 but i never got a clear answer and i know it maybe a retarded question to few but im not completly sure.

can i just put it new h.i.d bulbs into my maxima headlights (which are factroy bi-xenon h.i.d bulbs already) or do i need to buy a whole new different kit? im lookin either at doin 8000k or 20000k

you don't want high visibility? the stock HID Kelvin is the brightest available. If you change it, you will have dimmer lights.

12000K casts a purple/pink colored light. Bad for illuminating the road and bad for color recognition. Compared to 5000K, you get about ~80% of the light (approx 2200 lumens in comparison).

8000K casts a bluish light. Better illumination and acceptable color recognition. Compared to 5000K, you get about ~85% of the light (approx 2300 lumens in comparison)..

6000K casts white light with blue tint. Better illumination and good color recognition. Compared to 5000K, you get about ~95% of the light (approx 2450 lumens in comparison).

4300K/5000K casts white light with pale yellow tint. Best illumination and best color recognition. You will get maximum light output (approx 2550 lumens in comparison).

Note that numbers are relative and not absolute.

you fail to realize anything over 4300 is NOT better. but to each his own. 8k is 85% of 4300. if you're purely after looks that's fine, but realize you will have less light output.

I have the 8k and they are pretty bright. Dont have any problems seeing at night.

But that is coming from halogen bulbs! LOL! so any HIDs are better than that!

I had 6k bulbs, White with a nice purple/blue tint. 8k bulbs at least in my experience are way to blue... anything over 8k becomes bright purple. go with 5-6k range for the color temp. 8k is ricey, 4300k look like **** IMO.
