17 Inch Winter Tires - Pirrelli 210 Snowsport - Urgent !

Hello Guys,

I really need your help. I was going to buy Bridgestone Potenzas which would cost me 1200 $ including taxes, shipping and duties but I came across this listing.

http://toronto.craigslist.ca/tor/pts/511005566.html

I spoke to the seller and he's willing to sell them at 200 $ Cash, Pick up. he said they've only been used for one season. I'll be going tommorow with a friend to check them out. They are Pirrelli 210 Snowsport. I don't have any 17 inch rims but I could get some steel rims put on there.

Any experiences with them whatsoever?

Would they fit on the 07?

Also - CanadianTire is selling 17 inch steel rims for 69.99 $ Ea so it comes to roughly about 280 $ before taxes.

Get them?

P.S: He said I'm the first one to call so he'll make sure he sells them to me.

To tell you the truth I have never heard anything good about Pirrelli tires. They are usually way over priced and they don't perform so hot either. That being said, if he is willing to give all four of them to you for $200, then it is worth checking out because $200 for winter tread is pretty good and the Pirrelli 210 Snowsports should be better than your summer or all season tires you are running now. I would say check em out. If you don't have a tire depth gage, then take one to a shop and get an estimate of how much tread life is left if you are questioning the wear of the tires.

Good luck.

Check Tirerack for ratings, comments, etc...

They will fit, somewhat. Stock size in a 17" is 225/55/17. The 45 series are going to be a little over an inch shorter. 4x4 FTW..?

I have them. Its somewhat of a diffrent thread pattern then that but from my point I havent had them that long and they seem fine to me. No problems from me not too much road noise, I havent really gotten much time in the snow with them yet but with the short time that they have seen snow I like them. Contradicting Terrentius's statement I have Pirellis' on my audi also and I am VERY happy with them.
