Cricket or bad strut?

Guys - I need help on something that may sound incredibly dumb - but I have to ask. Yesterday @ 2 in the am I get a flat tire on a highway. No biggie - pulled over, put on the spare tire and drove aproximately 20 miles back to my house. This morning took the tire to be repaired. Nothing unusual so far.

However, tonight (a couple of hours ago) a cricket-like sound started coming out of the left rear wheel of the car - the same tire that got flat and repaired today. Myself and a friend took the tire out thinking it might be leaking air, but then we noticed that the sound is coming either from inside the strut or very near it. I am wondering - did me driving for 20 miles with 5 people in the car screw up the oem strut? Or, does the strut scream like a cricket as a warning sign that it is about to go bad? lol

Here is what I am talking about. On the first vid I stuck the camera inside the rear fender - right next to the strut:

I really didn't want to upgrade to coil-overs just yet as I am looking to get the RLM/Concept front bumper first - but I don't want my car sounding like a cricket everywhere I go either!!! Help!

The spare is fine..... I guess what I am really wondering is if before the strut goes bad, does it sound like that?

I have a similar problem. My front right is making a sound as if its bearing to much weight (if that makes sense) It sounds like a "straining" issue as if my strut or something is about to fling out. Really dont know how to say that.

Wow its strange how your car sounds though???

I would think its a belt issue personally.

Please let me know what you find out on this.
