I have Stillen - www.stillen.com I made a heat shield so it is a cold air intake too, the benefits of both worlds.

I think I'm one of the first to have a K&N aircharger intake. It just came out 2 weeks ago for our 6th gens. I will install it Wed. and let everyone know how it is. Also has a heat shield.

What about the heat comming from the engine? I wouldn't use that kind of short ram during summer, but that's just me.

Easiest and cheapest short ram ever is taking the front piece of the intake off. It costs ZERO dollars and probably sounds the same. The intake box acts as a heat shield.

I have the Stillen Short ram intake installed on mine and I am not impressed. It has a deep sound to it when I really get on the gas but its not as loud or mean sounding as I thought it would be. My gas mileage is also worse. I am probably going to reinstall the stock intake, Ill sell my Stillen if someone wants it.

I live in NY & I am a little scared of putting a CAI. Just don't want any water getting in.

The IAT's only rise 15 - 20*F when at slow speeds or a stop. Other than that, the IAT is at ambient or cooler.

It's given me my best dyno numbers yet.

I have the best of both worlds. I have a Stillen Short Ram intake, but I built a heat shield so that it breathes only cold air.

In theory, yes, but do you have actual IAT data with and without the shield?

Nmex,

Is that because the air doesn't have to be pulled through a long tube to reach the engine?

Makes sense to me if I picture it like that.

Jimmy-How old are you, that picture looks about 9 or 10. lol :-p

Care to explain a little further, I don’t know what those acronyms stand for.
