hot air from under dash????

Has anyone experienced this? It's almost like you have the heater on. With the a/c off and the recirculate button pushed, the warm air is still coming in under the dash/ floorboard areas. Is there some sort of actuator that may be bad? Any suggestions?

thanks, Dean

I would say it's normal...I have the button pressed that lets air come in from outside, and whenever I stomp on it..."warm" air hits my legs.

Even in recirculate mode, the air comes out of the same air ducts, most of which are in/under the dash area. I would say your HVAC system is operating normally.

recirculate mode it shouldn't be pushing air from the out side only in fresh air mode should it be doing that

OR open sun-roof + 60 degree blowing w/o a/c = profit...literally cause' you spend less money on gas w/o a/c ftw!

it will push out the air at the last temp it was left on. If you leave it at around 75 degrees it will push out that temp, when its turned off.

I know this thread is over 3 yrs old but i just started experiencing this issue a few days after fixing my timing chain rattle. Before i had the work done i never even knew this problem existed. It cant be normal because it just started happening and its bearable but uncomfortable to drive. Had a local mechanic do the chain job and im satisfied with the outcome except for this. Wanted to know if anyone else experienced this and what the resolution was before going back to them.

LOL I saw this thread way back and it wasn't an issue for me but I have noticed it from time to time like "what the!" where is all heat coming from. If I figure it out, I'll post something up, but for now I just turn on the fan or a/c.

Man he ruined the timing of your HVAC big time. Sue him.
