5000k or 4300k

Gent's, I am trying to change my light to either 4300k or 5000k HID lights within the next week. But I have no idea which one looks better. I was wondering if you guys have any of these installed and/or have any picture so you could post it? Also the guy is asking for $220 with installing everything and with all the equpments. Would guys think that its good price or not?

Thank you

4300k is stock color and best for driving/vission. The higher the number the more blue color output. Many go with 5/6000k for hint of blue, some 8000k for stronger blue color. I have stock hid's and in the near future plan on getting some 3000k hids for my fogs which produce a yellow color. Its all a matter of taste, so whatever you like. $220 as has been stated seems a lil much installed, but depends on the kit and warentee they are giving you. Shop around/research and then liek with anything else go with your best judgement.

I recently installed 8000k on mine and it looks very bluish but subtle. I paid $210 for the kit. Installing wasn't hard - but make sure you have the right tools if you choose to do it yourself.

Don't forget that as the bulbs age they will colour shift towards blue. I've got 4300k in my main lights and would prefer to go 5000 when they need replacement.

It actually depends on a kit. THere are some cheap kits out there even cheaper then you quoted but are of no quality. A lot of them don't have properly sealed boxes and water gets into them. Some have problems with lighting up and some just stop working after short period of time.

Go with AutoMax in Group seciton as for extra 10 bucks he gives lifetime warranty.

Go with 5000k and do it yourself. Its really easy. Just give yourself some time to remove the bumper. Take a look at my homepage for some pics that i uploaded. Hope it helps.

waaaay to much. Just get a decent kit (go with 5000K) from automax and let any shop install it for you if you don't want to do it yourself. Even if you get an expensive quality kit for $200 bucks, the install should be anywhere from 60-90 on the high end.

Please do your self a favor and get a good kit bought one from ebay, pure junk two days
after install the left light kept going out 140$ to install 89$ for the kit.so i went to a local custom shop and they install to high end ballast with one year warrenty 230$ installed i was able to keep my 8k bulbs total 459$ all because i bought a cheap kit.

Now one thing i found out is that our cars put out 7V to turn to our lights on the ballast i had required 9V to power the hid, the tech siad that was causing one side to go out. The new ballast is 7V no issues now

Had you not spend the money for the first kit total would have between 200 and 300. This is what I have been saying. Somebody on NYCMaximas has see kits as low as close to a 100 but every other person complained that one side dies and doesn't reignite or it just plain doesn't work when its cold outside.

You can get kits as low as $89 nowadays but the built quality is dubious. A decent set to last you 5 years + should not run more then $200.

Why settle for less when you can get Hella ballasts and bulbs for around that price and after all, who doesn't know Hella?!

so iam thinking 220 bucks is not a bad price, having a professional install it and all the equipments. The dude said that thing would last atleast 10 years and it is the same stuff that they put into BMW's. Im gonna get it done next week probably.

to post #3.

Higher the numeric value, lower the light output, 4300 is the brightest.
