Rear window

I took the rear chrome strip/plastic piece off the window and wanted to see why one side "bulges" up ever so slightly at the joint of the long piece and short piece. I know that many other people have complained about this as well. At first I thought it was the half broken clip that I have, but that's not the problem.

The problem is TN Nissan "quality/efficiency"

If you actually look at it, you can see that the window has to be seated very precisely on the correct height of caulk to make these sit properly.

Here is a picture of the right side that is flush when installed

Here is a picture of the left side that bulges when installed

If someone is going to argue that the gap is an "insignificant" sign, then look where the rubber "gasket" type of thing is on the top of the window. You will clearly see that the right side is "lower," as the left side is "higher."

I'm sure that there are some that have it "flush" on both sides, but every car can have the same quality...like we've seen/noticed with the transmissions, struts, and so on.

Never actually noticed anything. Will take a look at both cars later. The plant is about 15minutes from my house.

Bumping a old thread, but just want to say that remounting the window with the proper calking thickness fixed the problem and the plastic is now FLUSH. It started to bulge out more and more because none of the clips would clip in.

Thats what we get when it is built in the US anymore. People dont have pride in their work now. When these cars came out of Japan you wouldn't hardly find any flaws and workmanship(engine and running gear)could not be beat.
