New Grill Creation in Progress

Months ago I picked up a crappy ebay billet style grill. I hated it, but only $70, you get what you paid for.
Finally decided to chop it up and create a grill I haven't seen before on a 6th gen max.
I've been working on it for about 10hrs now.
I cut up the grill to lengthen and curve it.

Then I put together some aluminum mesh and 2 part epoxy to strengthen 'er up.

Now, I've got a lil mesh to form on top and should be ready for bondo. Then insert my glossy black powder coated mesh, then paint.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for your comments everyone.
As for the top, I'm just needing some mesh there on the straight chrome piece to fill er in nicely. I left a little 1/4" tab in the middle and might put in a slight v shape to go with the hood better. As of now, when I close the hood I cant see anything on the top. Soo, it might just look like floating mesh up there when Im done if I didn't add more too it.

I'm not sure of the emblem. Might look cool having an emblem staring at the sky on the bondoed piece, or sittin on the mesh that will be there eventually.
But, I probably won't because I already like the debadged look.

yea a hard call. That idea about a slanted emblem towards the sky seems awesome though.

Custom Grille

MaxxxPower! Looks like your busy as well designing
a Unique Custom Grille for your ride. Can't wait to see
the outcome base on the concept formulation.

Once my Custom Grille is painted I'll definitely post-
up some "New" pics A.S.A.P.

More work finished

Worked on the grill last night and this morning.
I extended the top portion with wire mesh. Then added fiberglass mesh (used in drywall) to make a straight line on the edge of the wavy mesh ~~~~

Then I duct taped the backside to create a mold for the bondo resin.

Time for bondo!

Nice work. I love seeing custom fabbed stuff and the process along the way.
So it's going to get a glossy black finish at the end.

I'll have it color matched black.
Just finished fiberglasing it over. I'll take some pics before I start sanding.

Its -2 outside right now. My garage is at about 35degrees. too cold for the thing to dry, had to bring the stinky thing inside.

Got alittle farther along. Here's some pics of a test fit after first sanding.

Sorry I couldn't get better pics or angles, its 3degrees outside and I'm not opening the garage door. It's only 30 in the garage. My beer is turning into a slushy..
Sorry for the dirty/salty car, couldn't get it washed, or my doors would freeze

Thanks everyone for all the feedback.
Final coat is drying...
Only thing left is cut out the mesh and mount with epoxy. (Mesh is already Powdercoated a glossy black)
These are the last pics in this thread. I'll start another one with pics on the Max.
