Batteries

Are they covered under basic warranty? Mine went this morning...

i dont think they will cover it. what i remember when i called so i wouldnt waste a trip to the dealership they said they would have to test it and if it was dead they would only cover i think 50% and after everything it would come out for $80 that i do remember. so for that price u might as well get another one like i did for $50 or even get a optima

Mine JUST went out a few days ago... i went to autozone and got a battery for 59.99.... installed it myself... LOL.... the guy was like ...

" would you like us to install it for you... its 15 dollars and take between 20-30 mins!"

I couldnt stop LOL at him...


Anyway... Autozone for me... but i have heard that costco is FTW

mine went a month or two ago, i bought an optima red top at cosco it was @ $164 after tax and fees. Shouldnt have to worry bout it as long as I own the car.

Optima has a lifetime warranty? Or is Costco who gives the lifetime warranty?

No lifetime warranty either from optima or cosco. I believe its a 3 year free replacement, pro-rated after that. The batteries last up to 10 years because of the dry-cell technology... don't think I will have car that long. Didn't mean to confuse anyone.

Oh, OK, cool. 10 years lifetime is not bad at all

Definitely something to consider.

i just couldnt see spending that on a battery when i have no subs... no tv's.... no cold weather to work about...

but i hear the optima is the way to go ...
