QUESTION do I need new Battery
The car was standing for 2 days and it was around 30 the last two days around here. The car wouldnt start, it felt it had some juice in the battery but still wouldnt start even after i tried jumping it. I had to press the gas in my car while turning the key to get it to start. Is that normal? cause every other time my battery died on me, i just had to turn the key, whats they deal with this? any help would be great

I believe autozone and/or pepboys will test it for free. My battery died about 2 months ago and I am noticing a lot of guys complaining about their OEM batteries dieing/not holding a charge as well. I guess Nissan skimped on the Battery. Cosco seems to have the cheapest replacements. I went with a Optima since I have a system and don't want to worry its more expensive at $164 after tax/fees but its worth it IMO.

I had the same problem, and I thought it was my battery as well. If my car sat for any period of time, I'd have to step on the gas and crank it for almost 5 seconds. If I shut the engine off and cranked it again, it would start perfectly fine. Is your "service engine soon" light on? My problem turned out pretty bad. Fuel pump, both cats, and my EGR valve went bad. The dealership said my fuel pump wasn't holding pressure which was one cause of the slow start. After they changed the fuel pump, it still started a little slow, so they looked into other things. They found that the EGR valve was stuck open and both cats went bad. Lucky I'm under warranty.

We just replaced our battery. It seems these batteries die by shorts in the cell separators which reduces the voltage instead of just sulfonation that just drops the output power. The voltage reduction tends to be instantaneous, instead of a slow degradation of the cranking power.

Re: happen to me too with my 5th Gen..
I distinctly recally something very similar to this happening to my 5th Gen. It was an 02' and it was doing the very same thing. It started with a sometimes difficult to start until it got worse and would not start at all. Every time I took it to the dealership they could not find the problem nor duplicate it. On my third trip it finally happened to them. They had already looked at it and were ready to give it back to me when the realized that the car would not start (classic). They had to get on the phone with Nissan Techs and discovered the issue to be a faulty sensor that had something to do with the timing of the Engine.. They replaced it and lived trouble-free after that.. it wasn't the battery, nor the fuel pump, nor EGN.. Hope this helps..
