If your going to spend money on something like that do it right here's a few

This one is Pioneer a favorite of many..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIONE...em190193212093

This is by Kenwood it's not CD based like the Pioneer so it faster ....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kenwo...spagenameZWDVW

And this one is by panasonic same kind as the kenwood where it's not cd based...AND it has a 30gb harddrive...this is the one your referencing above

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PANAS...em200195266168

Personally I like the Kenwood one...I lloveeee Pioneer but don't like the fact that I HAVE to use the CD for the navi...panasonic is nicceee the hd is ggreeaatt but if I don't go pioneer I would go kenwood with music...

There are plenty out there that are less expensive but don't have the many options that these bring...check them out and let us know what you like

Anyone else car to chime in

I have the D3 and if your IPOD savvy ie videos, movies etc...you don't really have to remove the disc. I haven't taken my nav disc out in months...

Wonder why that first shot is photoshopped??

Yes, the NAV goes into memory mode, so you have limited functions but it still works...

Got my AVIC-D3 from Cartronix.com for around $606 shipped. Also ordered a Pioneer 12 disc changer refurbished of eBay for $100 shipped. I can listen to my changer and use full navigation (DVD stays in) while using the changer and/or Ipod.

Speed sensor is easy.

The VSS wire in the 2004 Maxima is the BROWN wire on the AV switch (big white box above the radio). There should be 2 grey clips next to each other and a white one by itself. On the smaller grey clip, it should be 3 wires from the right. Its an 8 pulse VSS.

(Stolen from the other .org thread I made about this wire.)

I'm a huge fan of Garmin - I've got a Nuvi 350 and have tried many others.

A friend of mine recently bought an RV that had a Pioneer in dash already in it.

After about five minutes we turned it off and slapped a Garmin to the windshield.

The Kenwood has the Garmin built in. A friend of mine has that unit and is very satisified - I'd go w/ the Kenwood.

*disclaimer - I really have no idea what I'm talking about other than the personal experience I've had w/ a Kenwood and Pioneer.

I went with pioneer (avix x920bt). Just got it but didn't put it in yet. I think it's great imo and is loaded with features!
