Good deal?

Good deal?
Found a pretty nice maxima in a nissan dealer.
2004 SE, DPP, 55 000KM, full extended warranty until april 08
engine and tranny until april 09
They have a full inspection report, they changed the brakes front and rear, oil and tranny oil and filter.
19 000$ CAN. Ok I know in the US the prices are not the same. But in quebec canada, if you look around, there are not alot of 2004 at 19K, and not from nissan dealers with that low KM and full history.
Seems like a good deal? I could test drive it monday. Maybe I could try to bargain it to 17.5K?

it sounds fair from a dealership perspective.... 1 yr ago when i was looking around in dealerships they wanted 20-21k for a 04 se with average mileage....but i purchased mine from a private owner bc i meet the person who drives the car ...which was a 60 yr old man the car is fully loaded all options just not navi and ddp it had 23k and he had reciepts from nissan of all work done over the yrs... and he sold it 2 me for 18500k o yea and the warranty expires in 09 it transfers over and i could extend if i want ... i just like private bc u meet the previous owner at the dealership u get a detailed car!!!

Yes, I look around on all car selling places, and there are no other max with low KM and DPP for 19K. Some are 18 but no DPP. Some are 14 but 150 000KM. 19K is the average price for that kind of 2004/KM/DPP.
If I can bargain it at 18 or 17.5, that would be an awesome deal.
I've decided today that I've had it with my 1992 tercel. It's all falling apart and I'm pissed so basically I'll call the dealership on monday and buy the car. I'm almost done with my 5th year dental medecine and I can now afford to buy something better that a rusted to death 92 tercel that falls into pieces.

Just by way of comparison, Several Nissan dealers in the Atlanta area had their brand new 2008 Maxima base SEs for sale this weekend (ending today) at $21,749. I would expect to be able to get them at that price any day this spring; somewhat lower as summer approaches, and definitely lower as the '09s arrive.
Of course I would have to have the DPP package, and getting that at what I consider to be a good price would require a little negotiating, which I would be doing anyway.

Bah, I got the max for 20K$CAN with a 3 year 60 000KM FULL warranty(1000$)
Dont flame, its the price around here in quebec canada. I checked all the places and it was the best deal.
Car is #1, was already under warranty, works #1, they did a tune up on everything, and I love it.
Glad to have a max.
That thing is huge though, going to be hard to park :|

Yes, the view to the rear is somewhat restricted on this thing.
If you paid the 'going rate' for where you live, you should have no regrets. The warranty should give you peace of mind.
Having the DPP converts this from a 'sports sedan' to a 'sports-luxury' sedan. Make sure the heated steering wheel works. I use that half the year where I live south of Atlanta. I would never turn it off if I lived in Canada.
I know you are very glad to be able to motor around in your new baby! I hope it treats you very well.
