harmonic sound at 45-60mph
just the other day, i noticed a harmonic sound coming from the rear of my car while driving between 45 and 60 mph. any speed under or over, its gone.
the tires are new RSA's that have only been on the car for a few thousand miles.
any ideas?

Mine does the same thing, and i too have the "new" RSA's with @ 4k miles on them. I am pretty sure its the tires cause I only notice it on certain roads but its not too loud. I can't complain they were free and are for winter use only. My 20's are going back on very soon.

whats strange is that the noise JUST started- and those RSA's are all new (recall) with few miles on them. its not a road-noise, its a harmonic noise that comes and goes- after 60mph.
its annoying more than anything.... but ill live with it until these tires are shot- but hey- they were free.

my RSA's are long gone, replace with pirelli rosso's
then rosso's went and replace with yoko yk 520's
the yoko's have better wet and dry grip with "similar" tread pattern
- the pirelli's were expensive and did not grip near as well
- the good years are garbage
the sound could be a bearing but the sound would be a singing almost musical "whoo-whoo-whoo"
that speed s up past 45 and disappears around 60
this would be from running over a bump that would cause a flat spot on one of your ball bearings on that hub
the tire sound will be more a "ruh-ruh-ruh" that stays but becomes much less noticable at higher speeds
