Who's site were you on, the groupbuy or USPS.com?
My account in the group buy never gave me a tracking #, but I got one in an email to go straight to the usps.com, which works, just doesn't say it has gone anywhere.

Quote: I called today to purchase mine and to my surprise I was told to call in a few days to place my order because they're working on a better version of these halo's that will perfectly fit our cars.
This is not true, I talked to Justin today and he told me that the installer was mistaken, the Halos in the group buy are the new design.

Yes, he was mistaken. I called about noon my time and spoke to Richard, he too said the same thing. I placed my order and I should have it sometime next week (I dished out a few extra dollars to have mine shipped immediately and not having to wait for the group shipment). He kept on asking who was the installer and I couldn't tell him because I didn't remember. Even if I did, I wouldn't have said it anyways. Wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble. It should look hot with all the exterior mods I'm doing now.

My tracking # finally worked today. It told me it was delivered to my work address. Which I was not at today due to being sick.
I'll be picking them up tomorrow and starting tomorrow night on the install.
I think the group buy is at 8 or 9 right now so get in there and order these up, they should be out to you soon.

Joe, can you post the write-up? As I indicated, I ordered mine, but they will be shipped out before the "bulk" shipment goes out. So I should be getting them by Wednesday or so.

MaxxPower, can you get me a write-up on how you did the install? I should be getting mine this week so it'll be nice to know how to go at this from someone who already did it.

I'll write somethin up later.
Are you gonna do the install yourself?
Are you gonna paint the inside?
Are you changing out the orange reflector?

I'm not going to be doing it, I'll be paying a friend to do it. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to doing things to your own car. I have to rely on others to help achieve any customization I want to achieve on the car. I will be paiting the headlight to a liquid silver color to match the car's color as well. I do also want to change the orange reflector to one of those clear reflectors, but don't know where to get them.

It's not too late to get in on this, Most are still waiting for the initial 10 orders before they ship out at the discounted price of $119.
Follow this link to the website group buy page and create an account to see if they ship up to the great white north.
Order soon, you'll be #9 or 10 then they will all be shipping soon.

Maybe I didn't get this right... I read the whole 2 posts on this and I wanted to confirm - we get 2 rings and some wires... This may sound like a stupid question but I'd like to understand... maybe someone has pics of the box's content?

I couldn't find my camera when I did them this weekend, but you get 2 top halos. 2 bottom halos (4 Halos total) and an inverter for each headlight. Plus some connectors for attaching the halos to the inverter. I think your supposed to get some epoxy glue for attaching the halos to the light housing, but mine wasn't in the box.
You'll also might want to get some extra 18 gauge wire to lengthen the wires. That depends on how you will hook these up.
You'll also want to get some 3m double sided molding tape to mount the inverter.
You can hook the inverter up to the parking lights or the fog lights, or give them their own on/off switch like me and Joe did.

One other thing you get with the halos would be the "stares/looks" from those civic and wrx drivers on the road. In the last 24 hours, I've caught about 5 of those guys staring at the lights (in the daytime. Haven't driven at night yet)

That's funny...

Thanx for the info. I will have to consult with my "financial advisor" now... hope it goes.

Here's some Install information I threw together.
Tools/ Supplies needed

1. Remove your grill

2. Lower your front Bumper

3. Remove Headlights

READ THESE THREADS ON TAKING APART/PAINTING HEADLAMPS

forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=296987&highlight=painting+headlig hts

4.Open lights, (paint if needed)
5.Optional, use orange reflector as a template and cut out a clear sidemarker from flourescent drop ceiling cover, bought and a home depot.
6.Attach Halos to the inner headlight cover with epoxy.
-Drill into housing for a mounting point for each bottom portion of the halo.(4 holes per headlight)
-Epoxy glue the halos into those holes you drilled.
-Use small amount of Epoxy glue to hold the upper center part of the halo to the inner cover. (this makes it stable and wont shake while driving)
7. Run the halo wires to the inverter.
-If you paint the inside housing and are going to wire these up to your fog OR parking lights, you can mount the inverter inside the headlamp where canadian daytime running lights would go(use double sided tape). Then splice the + an - wires to the wires inside the housing. (either fog or parking lights)
-If you will be using an ON/OFF switch (so you can run them without any other lights) Lengthen the wires from each halo 12 to 18 inches and drill out the backside bulb housing (grey one for the main headlamp). Use a silocon caulk to seal it up. (allow some dry time for the caulk, otherwise it may cause moister inside the lamp) Then attach inverter to inside engine bay(outside of headlight).
8. Put Headlights back together using the oven method again.
9. Mount it to your max and Turn em on!

Anybody with questions feel free to pm me or ask away in this thread.

I'm not sure what to tell you.
It sounds like you were talking to their model on the front page of the website. Not a salesperson.

I wanted to order a set but have been delayed by a medical problem. What is the expected life of the halo's? I have already painted my lights and I don't want to have to take lights apart all the time for replacement.

They are rated at 50,000 hours, so that would put it almost 6 years if they were never turned off.

Tried placing my order today and had problems getting it to go through. I will be calling the company tomorrow to get my set. I have already painted my lights and one light has been fogging due to taking it apart twice. Does anyone know what the sealant is called and where to buy some extra?

I'm not sure what the sealant is called. But, my suggestion is to purchase a heat gun that you would use to melt the existing sealant and mold the gooey sealant around the housing to get a better seal without any lapses in the sealant.
If you try the wrong kind of sealant it may cause more humidity to form inside while it is drying.
Btw, you will be very happy with these halos.
They are bright as hell during the day, still very noticeable in direct sunlight.

I received mine today after a little complication with UPS. Received a full kit. Maxxx, was wondering if you can help me with what each item in the kit's for. As I've said before, not one for hands-on knowledge therefore I ask what seem to be the simplest questions. All your help is appreciated.

Well, you should have gotten 4 halos total. 2 smaller for the top and 2 larger for the bottom.
Each halo has 2 bare white wires coming off them.
You will have also gotten 2 inverters with 2 plugs on each and 2 bare wires (+ and ground)
There are 4 empty black "quick disconnect" plugs you will be attaching to the bare white wires on the each halo.
Hopefully yours came with some epoxy glue, if not go to the hardware store and get some crystal clear 2 part epoxy in the double syringe.
You will need to get some 18 gauge wire. And lengthen each white wire coming off the halos. Splice into the middle of the white wire, you'll want to reuse the end of each white wire to attach to the plugs provided.
I added about 18" to each white wire since I was mounting the inverter outside the headlights.
On the end of each white wire you will see the special metal end, its not just braided wire strands. On one side it will have a little extra piece of metal in the middle this is to line up with the empty notch on the bare plugs provided.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SEE HOW THIS GOES TOGETHER UNTIL YOU ARE DONE AND READY TO MOUNT THE PLUGS. If you snap them in, you will not be able to pull the plug apart from the wire. Then you will need a bigass hole in the back of the headlight housing to get those wires out.
There are 3 slots in each of the plugs but only 2 wires. You'll connect the wires to the outside slots and leave the middle open. You'll notice thats how the other plugs are wired from the inverter.
If you have more questions let me know. I don't think I left any thing out though.
Good Luck!

Man - this thing is growing on me... the only thing that bothers is having to bake my headlights.... what if it melts?! Isn't there another way of "gently" opening it?
