weird tranny sounds from 6MT

For awhile now I have been hearing weird sounds coming from my manual tranny in my 04. the only time I don't hear the sound is when i push the clutch in when I'm stopped. If i am rolling in neutral and hit the clutch pout the car into a gear, I will hear a whining, the lower the gear the higher pitched the whining. When I DECELERATE (on the gear not on the brakes) in any gear, I hear a whining almost grinding sound. when accelerating in gear same sound but less noticeable. I am using Red line MT90 fluid, have been for 30K miles, im at 100K miles right now. The shifter shifts smoothly no grinding or anything, and I don't abuse the car I mean I drive hard and usually accelerate fast but I don't power shift or drop the clutch and I rarely shift very hard. I bought it used so I don't know how the previous owner treated it. There is no way that the fluid could be eating away the bearings or synchros right? I have heard of this happening before but I read up on MT90 and they said its completely safe for our trannies. Someone please give me .02

I had the exact same sounds coming from my tranny. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the tranny under warranty since the car had 57k at the time.

I was thinking TOB also but the it makes a ratteling nosie like a bottle cap is in the tranny. The whinnig could be coming from the diff or the tranny it self but my .02 is the diff. It's the only piece that is constant in all gears.

Not what he wants to hear being at 100k miles and most likely out of warranty.

No, not the same thing, OP said "the only time I don't hear the sound is when i push the clutch in when I'm stopped." if it was the TOB that's when you would hear the noise.

lol thank you, your right the word "warranty" mean nothing to me right now. appreciate everyones input, so... throw out bearing..what does that do? and will the tranny last do you guys think? or is it gonna suddenly break down? and what causes that to go? thanks for the answers

^ ^ ^ It's not your throw out bearing, because you said "the only time I don't hear the sound is when i push the clutch in when I'm stopped." [as the throw out bearing only comes in contact when you step on the clutch] You could change out the tranny fluid, wouldn't hurt. The whining will get louder way before a breakdown
