Chern I am calling transgo on Monday to find out if they make a shift kit for our transmission. I tried on friday but they were closed. go figure 6 hour time difference. anyways I know they make one for the 4 speed. If they don't I will ask what the plan to make one is. I am also going to a saturn dealership to find out what they did to fix the same issue in the VUE. 2002 models where having a high failure rate with the 2nd brake it seems. might be a defect of some sort. will let you know as soon as I do. I recommend if you have time to try and find this out before you put your tranny back together as both the shift kit and the Saturn VUE fix will probably help. Also I put Royal purple in my tranny and 10w-30 oil, along with Super Coolant by Hyper Lube, this weekend. I used the 10w-30 vice 5w-30 because it has a higher wieght and breaks down slower keeping it's lube qualities longer and it doesn't get that cold here so will deffinitly help. So far so good. with the coolant I live in hawaii so I am running 15% coolant the bottle of Super Coolant and straight tap water. should be running about 205 degrees now vice 232. I am looking at another inline tranny cooler also. I also bought some ceramic spray paint for my headers and sprayed this weekend will post pics on another thread and I am doing my headers this next weekend to reduce as much temp in the engine bay as possible.

Not Correct. The Transtar Master Rebuild kit is a level above quailty wise than OEM verse the Alto rebuild kits (I quarentee no Tranny rebuilder is using anything different, including Level 10 Transmission since there are no other kits on the market anywhere for an 04 Maxima 5AT RE5F22A (AW55-50SN). Please link to proof if their is a better kit!!!
Also I had my Torque converter custom rebuilt by Florida Torque Converter as stated in the 1st post. The current problem we are having right now are finding the soleniods to replace in the valve body. We have found racing quality valves, springs etc through SONNAX so again this IS NOT a replacement part rebuild. Appeciate the help and support though...

Unfortunatly those are just the replacement parts.

http://www.v70r.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2025 I just found this.... read down to the transmission part. I am going to go to volvo and ask for the B4 servo cover install and ask for a tcm update and the adaption procedure done. Seems like volvo allready had this problem. since 2001.

so I called volvo and they told me that they can't reprogram my tcm because it's not really the tcm they are reprogramming its the ecm which is specific for the vehicle and unfortunatly they don't work on anything other than volvo. Component replacement they said they can do but they wouldn't be able to warrenty any work due to it being a nissan.

My guy may have solved the Solenoid problem so while we wait for the info and arrival date I decided to finally install the RacingLine rear motor mount insert and bring home my Turbo exhaust pipe and re-wrap the 02 sensor wires and protect them with high temp electrical tape (double wrapped), followed by high temp heat shield tape (double rolled) and put sleeves over areas that seem to rub more. Hopefully more updates tomorrow but also please understand that I'm not rushing this job so their will be delays in updates. A great rebuild is more important to me than any ones rush for pic's and info. But we cool...
Also if I receive my new red LED tail lights while the car is still in the shop, I'll install them also since all these items are on my phase 4 list anyway.

OK, OK, it's done, since we won't be getting the tranny valve body parts till Monday, I ordered the 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R front lower anti-sway bar also. It will arrive Monday so I will install it Tuesday and add it to the Phase 4 list of mods...
On a good note, the main tranny body rebuild is complete and back together...

Another Update:
Here's a picture of the rebuilt tranny and the tranny coolant connector that I'm replacing because you can't really open it to clean the screen and we can see metal shavings inside of it so I decided to replace it with a new one. One thing that is essential is keeping anything that cools your tranny in 100% good working order!!!
This is a picture of the top of the front subframe and you can see the easy access now to the Front Lower Anti-Sway bar that I'm replacing and upgrading to the 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R bar which is way beefy than our OEM. Everyone who swapped loved the handling especially Deus who pretty much begged me to do it now at a perfect time while the subframe was off. The big surprise is the anti-sway bar only cost $110, the new bar should add to the ultimate handling I now enjoy since my rear anti-sway bar is Stillen, FUSB is Stillen, RacingLine F/R Endlinks, D2 Coilovers on fatter tires...
Last and best of all, when I got home from work today the weather was beautiful, nice breeze, 76 degrees, sunny and these babies waiting on my front steps. My new red LED tail lights...

Also during the rebuild process, the Genuine Nissan Matic-K AT Fluid that we drained from my tranny which was fairly new and strained was used to soak all my tranny parts that would be reused and all new parts that were going to be installed.

OK, had an extra day before we start putting the car back together so I decided to take home the Turbo Intake pipe and polish it. Today I also received the new 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R front lower anti-sway bar that I will install tomorrow since the forward sub-frame is dropped. Anyway, here are the pics...

OK, just got back from the Tranny shop and installed the 2005 Altima SE-R front lower anti-sway bar. I also decided to clean and inspect the subframe before it goes back on. Last, note the thickness of the SE-R bar (top) verse the OEM Max bar (bottom).
For Kam, yes I got new brackets also...
Oh and yeah, I'll even clean my subframe if I get access...

OK the new valve body came in last night and was installed this morning. We could not find replacement solenoids anywhere so I ordered a whole new valve body instead. The picture shows the old VB on the bench and the new one installed already. Tomorrow we reinstall the tranny and everything else...
If everything goes good I'm going to run it at Maryland International Raceway on Friday night...

hey chern just wondering if you did anything to the new valvebody? There are a couple things that can be changed to help strengthen the valve body. here is a link to a few just in case. I ordered all five components and waiting on shipment to get here to hawaii for install. http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/...13&Search.y=11 unfortunatly I won't be getting the oversized pressure regulator and boost valve due to availability on the tool kit needed to install the valve. will be looking toward changing that part in the near future. Transmission is looking awesome and so is that turbo piping.
