changed spark plugs...

alright guys..hit 104,000 miles this week on my 2k4..engine was running a little rough (shuddering a bit under hard acceleration) so figured it was time to change the plugs..switched them out with the same ones that were in there..NGK Platinum "R" so the VQ runs nice n smooth but it still shudders a little...I can definately feel some vibration under acceleration..and Im sure its not my brakes or suspension or alignment. Could one or more of my coils be going bad? And how could I find out? No SES light..except when it was flashing 2 weeks ago..than went off but still got the code read and said camshaft position actuator bank 3 timing too advanced. maybe disconnecting the battery overnight would work?

Check NISSANHELP.com and read the service bulletins. You may get a match with your SES code

always used 93 octane gas in the car..and air filter is fine. still shudders. and it doesnt have the neck snapping power it used to. went to put on new tires today figured id do a little burnout to say bye to the damn rsa's and the tires just chirped a few times..man this VQ is not what it used to be..i need to find a fix to this..and fast. i know in my 00 when i changed the MAF (with no ses light) it felt like a rocketship after changing it. wonder if that has anything to do with it. or if the timing is stil off and my coils are bad. :/

Clean your injectors and then run quality 93 octane - Shell, etc
Clean MAF with 'CRC MAF sensor cleaner'.
Clean throttle body also - CRC throttle body cleaner.

In my most recent experience I met a guy who cleaned his MAF and throttle body. He needed to get the sensors aligned afterwards. Be careful with the TB. Aaron from NWP Engineering told me never touch the plate. In the end, after cleaning, you might just need to the relearning procedure. Thoughts?

Anytime you DC the TB, the relearning procedure is mandatory.

I'm not familiar with the code as I don;t have my FSM here with me, but bank 3? Seems strange being as there are only 2 banks.

The flashing SES typically means multi cyl misfire, which means bad coils.

I did clean the throttle body..i did not clean my MAF yet. im not sure maybe it said bank 2, i was going by memory, as mine is not very long term lol. but my question is..how can I find out which and if a coil is bad? spending the least amount of money that is.

Get the code and see which coil / cyl it's pointing to. How did you manage to not d/c the TB? did you sorta toss the IM to the side or just unbolted the IM from the TB altogether and leave the TB dangling in the engine bay somewhere?

After I added my CAI, I often got 'multi cyl misfire' but not enough to get SES.
I cleaned my MAF and added a grounding kit. Bad grounds can cause weak sparks.

It could be a lean condition. Check for 'unmetered' air going into engine: loose hoses or connection to TB.

There is a service bulletin on bad coils. Coils can go bad if the ground wire from the battery to the tranny is loose or damaged.

where they easy to remove, so many times I read about people saying they will change the 100k plugs at 30k cause at 100k they fuse to the block, I've changed 15k plugs at 100k and they came right out so I never understood why they thought that, I guess it's another myth
