HID's in Reverse Lights

Yeah so I got to installing 15k HIDs in my reverse lights. They come on with the reverse and with an independent switch I wired up.

Sorry for the ****ty camera phone pics.

Lol Hope you guys like my new license plate.

Good for blinding badasses that tailgate and meet at trafic lights.

I have been trying for ever to find a way to see better at night when reversing. maybe this is the solution. cool idea. now you should get the new led tails that everyone is hyped about and put the reverse lights in them.

So just how bright are they? Like obscenely bright, or just profanely bright? Pics showing the view out the back please.

Also what bulb did you use?

Holy cow those are bright. Hell if they're HID's in the Reverse lights, someone might think you are driving towards them if ya throw it in reverse at a stop light. Maybe you could post some more pics right about dusk. That way we can see the set up, the brightness during the day without the 'glow' around the light. Other than that good job. Post up the step by step guide on your re-wiring / install.

I'd like to see more pics, and how much did you pay? The only ones I have seen have been the same price as reg HID upgrades, around $200 (way too much for reverse lights IMO)

I think this is pushing it to the limits a little, but looks unique and hot. I like the led reverse light

I really like it. I have only 35% tint and its difficult to see when reversing at night (I depend heavily on my backup sensors). I would get those if reasonably priced.

i just think it is absolutely over the top. why not just go w/ simple LED's? there just reverse lights.

I guess you get points for being first to implement but Mark (deus) was first to even mention/ask for it. That is crazy bright.

How about HIDs in the little green arrows on the dash??????

Do you wait for them to warm up first then reverse?

To solve the problem of tailgaters, I simply slam the brakes.

I will get pics tonight of how much they light the road. They light up a lotttt.

A week ? They barely get turned on..... only when I pull it into reverse or when I flick the switch on. Its not like they're constantly getting turned on and off repeatedly.

um yes they are. every time you put it Drive or Park, you pass over Reverse. So you're flicking them on/off at least 2 times when you drive the car.

most of us go through darker areas so i wouldnt call it a stupid idea. I was wondering if someone on here was gonna do this. i've seen some on Umnitza also. it is great for tailgaters at the light and its also a plus for us blacked out tail guys and 15% and below tint. would also move people out of the way while you're backing up at meets or just gather arounds when they dont move

Idea is but... no. It will be even funnier seeing the flash behind your car every time you shift from park to drive.

Oh yeah: only in a 6th gen

normal ones...albeit a bit slanty.

not all of houston's streets are lit up...but i can still see fine at night. to each of their own i guess. but if that was me, i'd invest the money else where on the car.

Did this 3 years ago, have it on my M5 now, it's invaluable for those times when - just a simple "hazard" won't do
