Its like an inch or 2 short. You just have the exhaust shop weld in another couple inches of stainless to the main Y before the mufflers. Easy cut and weld job. Thats what the Berk version included, the extra inch or 2 of stainless already welded on...

If you want deep sound get a pair of magnaflows 14807. If you're looking for something loud that will turn everybody's head don't buy them.

here are the sound files, just pls don't listen to them on a laptop.

I do need the timing chain guides/tensioners replaced, except I called that dealer and filed a complaint with the BBB about this issue since the dealership misdiagnosed my car in the "pre-purchase" inspection. I told the service Manager I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake.. and they should cover the whole cost... however; if it came down to it... i won't pay more than a 1000 (if that even) toward the cost. He said he can work with that... he'll just have to call me back (hopefully tomorrow) to let me know how much I'd have to pay. Don't worry... I'm handling it correctly. No matter what... sure as hell I'm not paying $2000+ to get it fixed .

Anyhow, I wanted to get an exhaust system at some point... That's why I started this thread.. and it gave members to give great opinions, considering I'm still learning about Maximas .

its great everything is going well and good luck with ur maxxi. hope i didnt offend you in anyway but my opinion cattman sounds freaking mean and if you want a modified exhaust i think onetime or another you would actually want to turn some heads with your car cattman sounds great imo

Thanks bro... I don't get offended easily.. so no worries at all. I'm always open to comments, opinions, etc. . besides i'm a I still got a lot to learn about Maximas. I'm leaning toward Cattman too. I know Nismo is good, but I don't wanna go through the headache of extending 1-2 inches to the altima exhaust, even though it's tempting .

I'm definitely going to wait until I get the chain guides/tensioners done, then have my list of simple mods ready to apply

Another Q... If I decided to buy the Nismo for the altima and have it extended an inch or two... what year/model altima would I buy the nismo for?

Old body style. Should be 2002 to 2006 I believe, the V6 model.

I pm'd Brian about Cattman Cattback pricing... and this is what I received... tell me if that's the typical price for it, it seems like a lot money...

Hi,

The price of our catback exhaust for the 04-08 Maxima is $839.99. This may come as a surprise, but the catalytic convertor is not a seperate part on the 6th gen Maximas, its actually incorporated into the y-pipe (its all one part, the cat can't be separated from the y-pipe). Shipping the catback (huge box) to San Diego is $71.92.

In case you were also thinking about purchasing a y-pipe, its a great performance part and the price is $379.99 w/o a cat, and $579.99 with an excellent 300-cell all-metal street-legal cat included. Shipping the y-pipe would be about $19.

I'll note that if you purchase both the y-pipe and catback together, this counts as a full exhaust system (since we don't have the header manifolds yet) and the total parts price would be discounted 5%, a savings of about $70.

There are plenty of b-pipes in stock, but we only have one pair of mufflers right now (more in 2-3 weeks). We're in good shape on y-pipes for either manual or auto trannies.

We take orders and tech questions by phone. Give us a call at 520.575.6195, we're open 9-5 MST/PDT, M-F. We will be closed 14-17 and 23-25 July.

Thanks for your interest!

Its definitely the more affordable option. The Nismo should just fit, the only reason to extend is for appearance I believe since the Altima is a few inch shorter vehicle..

A lot of people on this org are telling me to order the 02-06 Altima Nismo exhaust and just have it extended 1.5-2 inches (that's what I plan to do) ... any shop could do it.. That's the only difference between the Maxima and Altima exhaust... That way you don't have to wait until it becomes available...Just a suggestion

Where you located at??? how much cash over the stock setup would you be asking for??? i might be able to take it off your hands if the system is in perfect mechanical condition... meaning no holes, breaks, dents, etc let me know.

anyone here with a cattman setup in Ontario Canada? if so what was the cost with shipping and everything...i just called cattman and they couldn't get the UPS site to accept my postal code so i couldn't get a quote.

EDIT: so i just got a call back from the guy at Cattman and he said with the catback system, the shipping fees, and border/brokerage fees, it will cost a bit over $1000!!!...yikes... in for a penny in for a pound i suppose. i might as well get it, its not going to get any cheaper

how long did it take you guys to have yours shipped to your house?

I want that setup so bad. But I'm waiting and saving to get the Cattman headers and the rest all at once. Then piggyback and dyno tuning. Reminds me, I need to call and see where they're at on the dev of the headers, unless someone has already asked?

If you've heard the youtube video of the max that had this exhaust installed and then started for the first time you wouldn't want anything else.
