7th gen 19" on our car

I wanted to do a wheel upgrade soon for the New max and but wanted Nissan or Infinity wheels so I was thinking for getting the 19" wheels from the new maxima. Dont even know if they will fit have done no research but thought I throw it out here.

They should fit just fine, BTW, it's Infiniti, NOT Infinity.

19x8 / 245-40-19. I don't see a problem. The offset is not listed, but I'm sure it;s not horribly different than your 08.

the 09 18" wheel has the same spec as ours. so the 19 should fit just fine. though i haven't seen the offset yet either. but the price you'll likely pay for them, i would look at nismos.

You should just buy the Nismo Silver 19" wheels everyone has them on sale right now because they are clearing their stock out.

You can buy them as low as $165.00 each right now. I just bought all 5 (Spare) and I paid $957.00 shipped.

Just check the tire and wheels section and you might drop by the 6thgenmaxima forum and check with winterfaust he has a set for about $900.00 shipped.

The tire size would be 245/40ZR19 and you can get tires for around $700.00 shipped.

Well i went to my dealer today to get mt "snorkel" replaced..(foam was falling apart). Parts told me that the 19's were $360 ea +tax. You'd be better off going aftermarket and picking something else you like! Imop of course. Fyi.

That's no surprise, about 8 years ago, they actually wanted about 2x that for a set of OEM 4th gen 16's (per wheel)

Who said they were 50 series? Did you mean 40? Not only that, but 40 series in a 19 is better than a 65 in a 15.

IMO, profile does have about 50% to do w/ wheelgap, (30 - 35 - 40, etc). Series and amount of said drop.

Sure it does. A Maxima with 50 series profile and the Nissan wheel gap that we all know exists will not look to great with these two things.

And when it comes time for your next set of tires whose gonna want to go 50 instaed of a 45 or 40...... Dissapointed there 50.

Still not seeing where you see 50. Also, 50 = more sidewall than a 40 0r 45, given the same tire width (Aspect ratio)

That second number has to to with a percentage of the tire width. the bigger the number the more sidewall so to speak. I cant see them putting 50 sidewalls on 19s...that did look funny to me.

You can call this dealership at 866-211-7389 and ask for Nickey and they are selling them for about $165.00 each wheel and then there is also a place called Lee Parts at the link below is selling them for $156.00 each so don't say I have never given you good information.

http://www.leeparts.com/search.php?a...msearch=MAXIMA

Just scan down the page and you will see the Nismo wheels for $156.00. I know that is probably the Silver not sure what they want for the gunmetal.

Good Luck,
Chris

please educate me how the profile effects the space between the tire and fender?

profile is merely a percentage of the width correct? so 45 profile vs 50 is irrelevant if the 2 tires have different widths. also when you change rim diameter, the profile changes accordingly to keep the same circumference hence the odo and speedo are accurate. if the overall wheel/tire has the exact same diameter and circumference, the wheel bore obviously does not change, then how is the space between the tire and fender affected?

or do i totally misunderstand how this all works?

Yes the Nismo 19" are great, I just thought about the new 19" due to getting a diffrent/better stock look. Also I remember when the 5gen came out those 17" wheels were so hot with the 4th gen people back in 2003 on here. I guess this is a similar thing. But i cant belive they are giving away those Nismos for 160. thats kick ***.

Percentage of the width determines sidewall height. Read the article in post # 13.

um that's what i said.

"profile is merely a percentage of the width correct?"
so how can 50 vs 45 mean more gap if the wheels are different sizes. stock i am 18" with 45 profile. my other wheels are 20" with 35 profile. I have the same exact gap. both are 245 width.

It's all in the math, so changing the 'series' will change the sidewall height.

So it has a definite affect on wheel gap. 245/50 vs a 245/35, the 50 series will have less gap given they are the same wheel size (17 / 18 /19" etc)

Wow it's a good thing I bought the new 19" Nismo rims because they are discontinuing my stock 18" rims also. It looks like they are going to stop making all of them probably so everyone will have to purchase what ever new wheels they release.

I had an incident recently where someone in front of me ran over a large piece of metal and luckily I avoided that but still ran over it and then hit something else in the road. So I found a knock off wheel to take the place of the stock for now and had the old rim repaired well got the car back and had a lot of vibration and took it back in and they said one of my other rims was also bent so they put the one I had repaired on and everything is fine now.

Hopefully my new rims will come in soon. I have not heard from the place I ordered them and they have not sent a tracking number yet.

so basically we are agreeing in our "arguement." I'm saying if the profile changes with the wheel size accordingly, you have the same overall wheel/tire size.

but, even if you change a profile on the same wheel, doesn't the entire car move up with it?

Ya, that's why there's plus sizing. Always matching OEM overall dia specs.

If the series goes up, the car will rise half the total distance of the new 'series', and the other half will be filling the wheel gap.
