OEM ballasts are only 35w. You won't have any benefit from running those bulbs unless you get 50w ballasts too.

From what I've read over at hidplanet, running 50w bulbs off a 35w ballast will hurt the ballast and possibly the bulb. Also, some people over there have had their projector bowls get messed up from running 50w bulbs because of the extra heat.

Link to a thread about it. The consensus over there is it'll either ruin the ballast or you won't see any improvement since you are still only running at 35w.

HID 9005s

Hey Guys,

I one of my bulbs blew on my 2005 Max SE so I brought it to a local shop to replace it. They initially told me they probably could not replace the bulb because Max 04-08 are all HID Nissan bulbs and only Nissan can replace them. But then they took a look and told me that mine were not HIDs and there were able to just pop one in. My Lights have never really been bright enough for me and I'd like to replace them. They guy at the shop told me to get an HID 9005 kit and he could put them in for me. I found the following link online that I was about to order but wanted to see if anyone else had any good experiences with them:

http://www.xenonlink.com/product_inf...products_id=80

the only other question I have is, should I get specificly DS2s?

dont get the d2s because your it wont fit in your socket. if your low beam is 9005, get he 9005 hid kit. 6k is a good color imo.

go to the group deals here at the org, there are some pretty good deals.

d2s is just for replacement STOCK hids.

Since you have 9005, you need a 9005 kit.
6000k is a nice white with a hint of blue colour.
4300K is stock but its a bit yellowish once you have seen 6000K.
8000K+ is blue and looks ricer and the police loves that.

I bought from operatic in the group deal forums, nice service, he exchanged the kit that I didnt like, etc. Nice guy. Good price. I bought the 50w digital kit. 6000K.

Thnx for the help guys. I ordered my lights, I should have them in next week. I also got so into it I ordered a replacement sleek grill .

Now that I think about it, the HID 9005 kit only does the low beams right? What do you guys recommend for

A.) The High beam Lights. [One Forum I read said H3 kit, is this correct for the 2005 Maxima SE? and If so what K do you guys recommend if I have 6000k for my main lights?]

B.) For my interior lights, is it a pain in the @!#@ to replace the interior lighting for something a little more in the blue relm? If anyone has any recomends I'd be more than grateful to hear, as I'm new to this.... but hooked, lol!

6th Gen Maximas don't have separate high beam bulbs. I'm sure you have figured this out by now if you have replaced your other ones though.
