RPM's Jumping

I searched the best I could but I didn't see anything but I just bought a 2005 Max with 31K w/ auto tranny.

The problem I'm having is that the tranny seems to be searching for a gear when I slow down, like when making a turn, and hit the gas again. Sometimes it slams into gear, but not too hard. Also, I can feel the tranny sort-of down shifting when coming to a stop and RPM's are jumping from about 500 rpm to about 1500 rpm.

Does this sound like a tranny problem or some kind of sensor gone bad(no cel)? I had a 4th gen and I had the RPM problem but it ended up being the throttle position sensor. The symptoms that I'm seeing aren't terrible yet but they stick out like a sore thumb to me b/c I also have an auto tranny 2004 with no problems.

Yeah I have checked that and it's ok. At the current mileage, I need to change it but I'm thinking it shouldn't be doing this b/c of that.

you never know.. it could be the fluid, with auto transmissions they shift with the pressure of fluid flowing through different passages with check ***** in place to create valves. buddy of mine had to re-do his transmission and put one check ball in the wrong spot and it wouldnt shift out of 2nd.
id check the fluid, could be the throttle sensor, or the speed sensor

I have almost the same issue, when i go to slow down sometime you can feel the car jerk, almost like it was an automatic and you downshifted too fast. I had the transmission fluid changed about a month ago. So i will take it too the mechanic and have them take a look at it this weekend.
