Cost of Extended Warranty??

Just wondering if any of you bought the extended warranty and if so, how much did you pay for it? Also, how many yrs/miles is it good for? Thanks.

Two weeks ago I bought a 05 Maxima SL with 38,000 miles for a dealer. They charged me $1,600.00 for a 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty. The warranty will expire in 2013 or 98,000 miles, whichever comes first...

same here.

but a lot of these numbers are when we bought our cars new. it's totally different when adding them on later.

remember you can shop around for the best extended deal. I would get the best deal, make the original shop follow through with all that work, then continue my business with the new shop I bought my warranty from.

I have an 05 I just picked up with 17k miles. Is the cost lower with lower miles?

I think there are issues with the transmission and the stereo (BOSE) is awful.

$1200
100,000 miles or 60 months....Preferred Gold Plus warranty

know the owner of the dealer really well and shot me the warranty at around their selling price...showed me the books to see how much they HAVE to sell it for and he made needed amount and sold it.

ALWAYS BARGAIN FOR THE WARRANTY.

Brother bought a g35 07 sedan and got the warranty from $1900 down to $1250

Has anyone heard of the GE 4 Star Plus Warranty? I have about 77k on my 04 and the dealer that I bought it for offered me this warranty for for $1200/4yrs or another 100,000 miles???? good deal? From the look of what it covers it seems to cover everything.

How many of you guys shopped for a warranty online? I'm looking for a (of course) good price with all the coverage, including bluetooth and everything else. So far the most coverage I could find was 5 yr/100K mi for about $2,700. I don't mind going UP TO $2000 but $2.7K is too overboard...

I recommend buying an extended warranty. So many components can go bad, especially in the 04 (first model year). I want to revise my last post because I found a bumper to bumper for $1,200 (same company I got the original quote from) that covers everything to 4yrs/100k miles. Sounds good to me! And they do FREE 0% financing. So, if I wanted, $41 a month and I'm set til 100k miles. Free loaner as well and I pick any dealership or mechanic.

warrantydirect.com is supposedly the company dealers buy their warranties from and then resell to us for markup.
You can get best prices from them. They are also bonded. Warrantydirect been in business 20 years.

I just got my 07 SE w/ 16,900 miles. I got the warranty down to $1500 and I'm covered for 7 yrs/100,00 miles bumper to bumper w/no deductible. It also includes the 5yr/60,00 tire/wheel warranty. Mine was a "certified" pre-owned and included the 7yr/100k powertrain, the added bumper-to-bumper was called the "nissan wrap" warranty.

I applied for warranty when my car had 53,000 miles. I have 74,000 miles right now. My extended warranty is for 50,000 miles(until 103,000 miles) or 5 years for $1,248 over 12 months(powertrain, electric, everything). $104 a month. I plan to get extended warranty when this plan expires since I don't plan on buying another car until 2015. I'm putting this Maxima to the test and hope to get 200,000 miles out of it, then give it to the daughter when she's 16(in 2015). I hope Nissan does not disappoint me...

Well i bought gold preferred from my nissan dealer last feb for $2100 for 7yr,100k. So i'm good till feb 2012 and i'm very happy because last week i had to replace a headlamp on my car due to water in it and it was covered. They told me it's good that i have the warranty because the light cost $ 897+ tax. Almost 1/2 the cost of my warranty.

Got it from the dealer when I bought the car used. It already had an extended warranty, for 4 years 37.5k miles, and what I did is add full bumper to bumper until 75k miles instead of 37.5. and 7 years instead of 4.

So it's covered full till 7 years or 75K miles. 1000$. Thats a bargain, dealer wanted 1800 at first and that was a "deal" they said cause the previous owner already had it. Bah, didnt want it, they ended up saying 1000.
