SES Light

I mentioned my problems in another thread but decided to start my own.

Quick Run down:

1) SES light came on

2) Car would not pull from a start, RPM's steadily climbed but car did not
respond

3) Took car to Advance Auto for a reading, P0744 Torque Converter
Intermittent (not sure if that is the correct code combinations"P0744" but
it did state "Torque Converter Intermittent")

4) Took my car to Nissan, they "reset" the light First, ran a functions test
and stated they read an "old" code for a Control Valve and that it did not
need work.

If I'm not mistaken, should you NOT reset the light first before you run a functions test?

I'm taking my car to another dealer Thursday, but now that the light is reset and the problems are temporarily gone, it's going to be hard to convince them I have a problem.

Good luck man I'm on my second dealer 5th time in total and third service writer and manager. Also both my rear o2 sensors are not working at all and I have no check engine light and my car two days ago started running like junk.. Car shifts into 3rd and falls on its face( Feels like someone through a rope around the car and pulled it). Not thread jacking.. An yes I thought also you were to reset the light before the test..

Okay, I figured you weren't suppose to reset the light first but if that's the case, I guess it's cool. However, I think the dealer just doesn't want to repair it b/c I now have 88k on my car and I already had them replace a trans under my extended warranty.

I hope you get your issues resolved....or maybe trade up b/c that is literally what I'm thinking. I'm just trying to ride my extended warranty out first.

Trade up is a option for my but I have to justify the $2500 I would have to put down. Already looked at a 08 G35X-S. $545 a month for 39 month( Lease) but we will see. The $600-800 for the o2 sensors isnt that bad but if there are other issues the car is going to Infinty,, LOL.. When they replaced your tranny they did not replace the converter?? Why not? Usually they change both. Atleast I did when I was in the Bussiness. So you do not have to remove it again. What was the issue with the first tranny??

The problem with the original tranny was that it was jerking. When it would shift from 1st to 2nd, there was a major jerk, especially when I was on a hill. The tech drove it and said nothing was wrong, so I drove it myself with him in the car to duplicate the problem and he admitted it needed a new transmission, no questions or concerns. So I had that replaced. I'm not even sure if they replaced the converter the first time, but I do know it took at least 3 1/2 weeks for my transmission to ship!

In June, I just had the O Rings replaced in the tranny cooler.

I honestly believe they don't want to work on my car under extended warranty. But I know they'd find everything wrong if I didn't have a warranty.

The orings on the tranny cooler.? So it was leaking which side was leaking. It is possiable you got anti frezze into the tranny and I hate to say it you would need another one, This would also cause you converter to start slipping. The clutches in the tranny when the get wet( Water or anti frezze) break apart and will mess everything up..

They didn't say which side was leaking and I didn't look. I'm thinking I need a new one too, but it's just the question of who will replace it.

Just take it to another dealer. Have them check it out. I'm not sure you have a problem with someone installing it but your warrenty company may be like WTF
