yea its not bad at all, took me a littler under 45 minutes.
the hardest part is fitting the rubber tubing around the intake part of the engine and the fujita pipe, everything else is all a breeze.

I took like an hour and a half bcuz i didnt have all the tools i needed. Was using an IKEA tool set to try and do everything (would not suggest that!) ended up having my wife run to Lowes for the remaining tools i needed. Should have been easier but i don't work on cars was able to do it with minor hitch (lack of tools).

Sounds great doesnt it?

haha i did something like that. I had all the tools, but when it said to install the air sensor using the factory torx wrench(which came with it) I was like "i dont have one of those". So i used a pair of needle nose pliers and it did the job. when i realized it was sitting on the table i felt so dumb, but i got-r-done.

...it's retarded because the torx wrench that came with it is not the correct size. When I was installing mine, I had to have my friend drive around to quite a few stores before they closed to try and find one, but they either didn't have them or were out of stock.

Friends dad got them off with pliers.

Since we are talking about the intake. How long before you have to replace the filter? Since I live in Riverside and K&N is just right here and I know a couple of guys there, would the intake sound different if I were to install and K&N filter instead of buying a fujita one?

As far as replacing the filter im almodt positive its washable/ can be cleaned, so i dont think you have to replace it.
And about the K & N filter, it will not sound any different unless it is made out of a different material it will sound the same. The distinct sound of the intake comes from the material and specs of the pipe.

I had the same problem, the torx wrench was for the Altima, and not only that it has a dimple or a dot in the middle of the torx fitting, and when I tried to use my own that dimple made it so that it would not fit at all, in the end I used a needle nose plier, 20 minute job turned into 2 hours just cause of the MAF sensor

Hey guys gotta question. I installed mine yesterday took about an hr. At low and high RPM's sounds and works great. But I keep getting this lagging feeling around mid RPM's when I am really getting on it???? From a stop light is launches great then bogs then kicks back in again after a second or two. Is there anything I can check or do to fix this. I was so excited for this and now I am really bumed. Thanks

Just retrace your steps, maybe you have a air leak some place... make sure your filter is on tight... check around the Throttle body... etc...

Alright, I just got an 08 SE last week and love it. Problem is, it's my wife's car... I want to install a CAI but I need some reason to justify it to her (ie better gas mileage, it'll pay for itself, etc.). Any help for a proud new Max owner?

LOL......wives always get the better car. Except me, my wife has the 08 altima, and my 07 max is way better. the 3.5 is much smoother and quieter than the 2.5. Um....tell her it will get better gas mileage. But imma tell you, she may end up hating the sound and tell you to take it off imediately!

For the Fujita Cai, when you hit 3500 RPM or higher, you WILL hear a big difference, some people compare it to a Lion's roar, Godzilla, and other loud sound. Regardless, if you know she's going to hate it, save your money and don't bother getting it.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. Do you know what a parts store return policy might be for something like this?

Tell her theirs a TSB requiring change-out of her CAI, she'll believe you just as long as you don't smile...
