In the market for a 6th gen, help

I am new to this site and have found it very helpful thus far. I am in the market for a 04-05 Maxima and wondering what should I look for. Any particular issues with these cars? What is the difference between the SE and SL, is one better than the other? Looking to spend in the area of $15K and have found some nice ones around in that range with under 50K. What mileage range should I stay away from? Thanks for all your help

If your worried about certain years having problems. No...

they pretty much have the same problems. No car is perfect.

I think 06 models have a bluetooth module....

but since you have the certified pre owned warranty, check for the famous rattle when accelerating. It sounds like a rock in a tin can. Its a common problem and make sure the dealer fixes it.

If you are in cali I recommend the blue tooth if you can find one. I use that feature more than anything else in the car.

I'm looking to get a 6th gen also, 05 or newer, less than 50k miles and leather. I'd prefer tinted windows, but I can have that done, and I prefer nav, but I have it on my Blackberry, so not a big deal. What do you all think of this deal? I'd like a black one, but 13k seems good, just got in a minor accident and had some work on the front right side of the vehicle. Any feedback would be appreciated. http://portland.craigslist.org/yam/cto/869564119.html

$13000 for an 05 with 26000 on it, that seems way off, I check the local classifieds all the time and the lowest price I have come across was an 04 with 87k on it for $14500

It does say it has a salvaged title. WOuld they salvage a title for a small accident that didn't damage the frame or engine?

Be very careful with salvage title, you want to find records for the nature of the damage. I personally would be very unlikely to buy a salvaged vehicles, however My stepbro bought a salvaged 6th gen Maxima and it's worked out okay. The car only had damage to the front passenger side. The price, even fixed was unbelievable. But even after fixing it, the passenger side door looks like it's always slightly open, even tho it's not... probably some deformity in the body.

You definitely want to know what kind of damage it's been in.
