It's your money to spend on mods but I would seriously consider saving them for potential 1) timing chain and, 2) transmission problems. Most of the 04 SE start showing both problems at around 90k miles.

2006 SE 79,000 miles

79,000 miles, original owner, bought new in Feb 2006, both AC lines replaced (one under warranty), 3rd battery, 3 pairs of tires, rotors soon, and currently having the transmission rebuilt (not at dealer) . I guess the timing chain will be next. What will not be next is another Nissan, and I also have a 2002 Frontier.

80,000 miles and abs module is cooked. Trying to find one online, but not sure where to look to find the cheapest without risking getting the wrong one ( some companies do not provide the part number, you're just supposed to blindly trust they'll send the right one ).

1987 GXE w/190,000. Started w/ 63,000. Two power stearing racks and an AC compressor, ps pump, and two alternators. Cruise does not work. Having an electrical problem right now w/ the battery light on in the dash panel. Any help would be appreciated. Schematic please.

Thant's nothing. I had 1990 maxima with 293k miles with all original except for alternator, tires, spark plugs, battery, brake pads and rotors. I changed transmission oil at 125k and then at 260k miles but I had regular engine oil change at 2500 miles. All the reason I had to give this car up is because of bad rust every where. Even at 293k the transmission in that car was so smooth that I even did not feel the same way in when I bought new 6th generation maxima. My old car was made in Japan while new maxima was made in TN, USA.

Just bought my CPO '08 Max SE for under trade-in value two weeks ago...34500 when I pulled her in the garage, sitting @ 35900 now. Luckily I have 100k warranty on engine, 120k warranty on tranny, and I have about 100 miles to go on the bumper to bumper. Didn't come with the Bose, no navi, basically just stock options. Love the car. Traded in my 2000 Altima with 173k on her. Hated to get rid of that car, but last winter tore up the underside pretty bad...

71,000 and HELP!

Can someone please HELP!

Posting here because seems to have the most brains in attendance.

Here's my dilemma:

I have a 2005 Maxima SL with black interior and a Brushed aluminum kit around the factory radio and other controls. I want to install an after-market radio but the kit to install the new radio in is a dark grey and does not match the rest of the center dash. Does anyone know where I can get the kit for the new radio done in the same brushed aluminum as the rest of the dash?

PLEASE HELP,

NAPPY THUNDA

ps. I know I'm a little PAR-TIC-U-LAR

Bought my 08 SE on 11-18-10 with 48,200 on it. It now has about 50,300...I'm fairly sure it has every factory option on it except for Nav....it even came with chrome wheels on it from the factory....

I can't remember how many sets of tires I'm on. 4 I think. Too much throttle response with these cars....bad for tire life. I'm only getting about 40k-50k miles per set.

Any 6th gens hit 200k yet?

How many miles....

I bought my Max new in 2005 (it's a 2004 model year). It has 103K miles and I recently put new rotors, brakes, drive chain, and did a minor tune up. It runs like new and I plan on keeping it for another 100K.
I am wondering when to put new shocks and struts on. anyone have any experience with this generation on when to replace them?

Pretty sure, at least I think I remember reading in my '08 owner's manual, that the shocks and struts have a lifetime warranty. So, if you haven't lowered your car or had any other shop work on the suspension, my guess would be never.
