Maximas are definitly not suited for rought roads. A few of these IL potholes are gonna knock some of my teeth out one of these days.Originally Posted by thewomble

I am now up to 178,000 miles on my 2004 SE. This year so for I have replaced the oil cooler...front wheel bearings...belts...new set of tires.
What's left..Valve cover gaskets, rear bearings and rear bearings. After a tune up I should have a new car!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am inches away from purchasing a 370z or really going turn coat and buying a BMW Z4.

Just looked at an 08. Black on Black cloth interior. 51k miles on it. Only thing I didn't like about the car is it had RSAs on it. And they were new. If I buy the car I definately will be replacing the tires.

I am just about to hit 117,000 on mine and has never had any major issues, kept oil changes every 3k, interior looks like it came right off the lot, only bad thing is, my seats are cotton and not leather.

Purchased new in 05. Not it's got 118000 miles on it. Major work was timing chain @ 90k and auto trans @ 60k.

Purchased my 2005 Max new August 2005. 60 mile commute round trip daily all freeway and IM at 132,000. Tuned at 120,000 zero issues mechanically and just replaced complete Strut assemblies including springs.
HOWEVER, IM adding 1/2 quart oil every 500 miles which can't be good.

End of the line at 258k! It was leaking exhaust gas into the antifreeze for a number of months now so I saw the end coming. Finally something went and it was blowing raw fuel out the tailpipes and barely idling. The check engine light came on and the code was "multiple random misfires". Might have been related to the head gasket leak. Could also have been something with the ignition system. I will never know as I sold the car to my brother-in-law who then sold it to a junkyard. Its good to know that many of my Max parts will live on in other Maximas. Farewell Blue Maxima SE......Your my boy blue!
