Interesting comment there, I got to say my '07 CVT feels a whole lot faster than my '06 ever did. IMHO the 6.5 gen Max outlooks the G or 7th gen Max and I like the '03 body style but it is dated.

I have to agree with you on looks. In my opinion the 2007 Maxima just needs a aftermarket front grill and you're good to go(Don't like the grill).

I sat in a 2009 G35 sedan today. At 6 feet 2.5 inches I felt it was too small for me. The difference in size relative to the Maxima is HUGE. The Maxima is way more airy. But performance wise there is no comparison between a G35 sedan and the Maxima. The G wins hands down for overall enjoyment of driving experience. No torque steer and fun whipping the rear end around. The Maxima is smoother though.

For long drives with passengers the Maxima kiks butt on the G35. For that matter with passengers on short drives the Maxima kiks G butt.

I love the look of the G35 coupe, but feel the maxima outshines the G35 sedan looks wise. Taste great, less filling...

I did look at a G35 that was on the lot and the rear leg room was not much. I travel a bit so comfort and space is an important feature. We get alot of snow in the winter so RWD is not an option for my wife, I grew up with it and like it much more than FWD. 327 chevy RWD and a 4 speed is the *****. cars from my past are '68 Camaro RS and '67 Stingray

Those 6th Generation Maximas

I had a 1999 Maxima SE-L for a while and finally upgraded to a G35, 2004, 6MT Sedan.

Boy, generally do 6th generation Maximas love to try and race me. They are heavier, FWD, don't have as much power up high, and slower (yes I have driven one, not nearly as agile).

The other day this Maxima kept trying and trying to get ahead of me. It just couldn't.

I finally just let off the gas because I was over it. The damn thing decided to floor it and put its blinkers on like it beat me? lol Talk about a sore loser.

Eh you're right. I was mainly curious as to why someone would do that. I'm not gloating or anything.

The last couple of days we test drove a couple of 04-05 Maximas back-to-back with a G37 sedan. The Maxima is roomier inside, although the G is OK up front. The G ride is much harsher, which is good if you are into seeing how fast you can take a curvy road, but for us, the compliant ride in the Maxima suits us much better. Power in the Maxima is more than plenty for us, and fuel mileage is a bit better. Just wish we could find a Maxima in better shape than the ones we've looked at so far. Boy, do I regret not buying a new 2005 Maxima back then!

i don't see why anyone has to be in a huffy that a g35 > 6th gen in certain aspects.

i hate to break this to you but the g35 actually is a luxury sedan while the maxima isn't. i'm amazed you arn't aware of this fact...
Hate to break it to you dude...the G35 & G37 are not luxury sedans, they are considered "Premium Sedans"...BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac, Lincoln, Rolls Royce, etc are Luxury Brands, Infinit and Acura are Premium Brands.

2 reasons:

1. Room. The G35 Cabin feels smaller.
2. G35s are everywhere in my city. You rarely see 5th gen Maxs+ up
