Can't get my remote to program... ?

I bought a new remote from Nissan for my 04 Max, and I followed the directions (close all doors and lock from driver's side, key in and out till flashers blink, hit lock button remote). Nothing happens though.. and the remote still doesn't work.

This is a brand new remote.. Any ideas?

hmm.. I'll check to see if it will program on a 04 Spec V.. which has the same remote.. If no go, I'll have to check the battery. Odd though, as this thing is brand new, out of the box.

Figured it out.. The instructions that I found were wrong..

After the flashers blink, you're supposed to insert the key, and turn to ACC, to clear out any old transmitter code(s), THEN hit a button on the new remote to program. You also have to turn it back off, take the key out, unlock the door, open and close it.
