Has Anyone...

Installed an HID headlight conversion kit on their max? I'm going to be doing it pretty soon. Does anyone have a write-up on how you did it? Thanks.

Hopefully you'll be the first one to do the conversion. Here is a write-up that I think it will help you out!
1. Make sure you have enough dough to get one.
2. Go to the group deal subforum and purchase the right one for you car.
3. Stay home until the package arrives
4. Open the box and sure all the stuffs are there.
5. Read the directions and install the kit
6. Take pictures of the glare and start new thread on the forum.

You silly little wabbit.
What temp are you planning to get?

I'm thinking 6k. Is there a way to adjust the glare? Would you just adjust the beam and make it shine lower?

I'm sure they do. Maybe your lenses are dirty.

I know the headlight beam can be adjusted down a bit. I thought that may help a bit on the glare.

Yeah it will definitely help glare. If your worried about glare don't get HIDS. Theres tons of glare.

Yeah I figure after seeing the beemers and lexuses xenons that the glare is pretty normal. The kit is just worse than the stock xenons glare.

I know many members who have installed HID conversion kits. And I'm sure if you did a search you will find old threads on the subject. I will inject one word of advice, the biggest problem I saw by at least 6 different members was not sealing the headlight back correctly and condensation building up inside the lenses. One member down in Florida pulled almost a cup full of water out of his lense because of the humidity!!!

Yeah I have been looking around and no one seems to have a really good write-up for the 6th gen. As for the condensation, I will have to watch out for that.

I did a HID kit not too long ago. Just get the bumper off, unscrew the headlamps, and put the HID bulb in place. Since there's wires needed to be run through, Drill a hole through the back housing and run all the wires through. Connect the HID wires to the box and place the box in a secure area. Make sure not too make the hole too wide or you'll have to patch it like I did recently.

Is there any problem with condensation inside the housing through the hole?

I had condensation on the drivers side light, but not the passenger. Never could figure out why one did and the other didn't. Just make sure the holes aren't too big. and just to be on the safe side, you can always just patch it up anyway.

Is the glare from the kit very bad? Also, did you use the 9006 bulbs?

If i'm not mistakened, all kits have glare, but the kit I bought shines really far and they're bright, but still sensitive to other drivers eyes. No high beams or anything come at me and my bro tells me they don't bother when I drive behind him. and yea I got a 9006 kit. 8000 k

Awesome. Thanks man. I bought the 9006 6k kit. I heard you have to cut some tab or something off the bulb in order for it to fit.

I have a digital 55w, 6000k, 9006 HID kit I bought on the group buy forum... But I also have a condensation problem so bad my drivers side headlight is nearly useless. I'm probably going to have to replace the whole assembly.
