Door handles freeze
Hi, it's cold out here and my door handles and locks seem to freeze. When I open the rear left door, the handle doesnt jam, but if I try to close the door, it always pops open. I have to play with the handle and slam it 10 times for it to close.
Which lube should I use and where do I spray it?

same issue here. i find that if you open the handle the snow that falls in gets packed down when the hand closes on it. i was at the mall the other day and the doors would unlock fine but the door wouldn't open when i pulled the handle. turns out the handle was held open just enough by the packed snow and ice that the latch wasn't engaging with the handle so i poked the ice out from under it and lock/unlocked again and no problems since.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A LUBRICATION ISSUE...
...as well as a temperature and poor engineering issue. The door will NOT close and latch when the interior mechanism reaches a sufficiently low temperature and there is not enough lubrication for the mechanism and spring to return to their original position(s). In order for the door to latch closed, the springs and mechanism must return the latch to its original position. If this does not happen due to cold and lack of lubrication, the door will simply remain open and will not fasten shut. The Maxima is not my first car which suffered this problem, and it likely will not be the last. SOLUTION: Have your door latches lubricated at every oil change. If that does not solve the problem, purchase some teflon bicycle chain spray lubricant from a bicycle shop and spray down the inside mechanism as well as the outside door handle mechanism with the handle fully extended / open -- spray the lube into every visible orfice (hole). This may or may not work immediately, but if you give it ten minutes of steady working back and forth, the door will close and the mechanism will be fine for approximately 60 days -- until the teflon from the lubricant wears off. Then, rinse, lather and repeat. LOL. NOTE: You must wipe the excess lubricant off the outside, painted area of your door in order to preserve your paint and clear coat. Don't worry about the excess on the door interior.
