The patient.

The transplant

Surgery takes place tomorrow, Sunday. More pics.

I'll be including step by step install photos for the GTR bumper for future buyers.

Do you already have the rest of the kit? Thats a low bumper to run on a stock bodied car is why I ask.

I have been running the RLM bumper with the rest stock and it is fine (it's the same height as the GTR bumper)

I was going to purchase some stillen sides as well to see how they would look compared to the VIP Sides. The VIP's look good but the Stillens have a flatter flush appearance that I admire. If they give the vehicle a great over-all appearance I'll switch over to them permanently. Can't wait to see the silver GTR front bumper install onto your ride. Definitely keep us posted!

what are you going to do about your license plate?

also is it just the light or does the middle of the bumper look uneven?

I agree, it kind of looks non symmetrical in the middle. Man this bumper will still look great though.

Damn that sucks for you guys that have to run a front plate, it is the law here in Cali as well but I have never had one on any of my cars. They will only use it as an excuse if they want to pull you over for something else...

You could easily put it down low on the mesh though.

It's laying flat on the board so the bumper looks good to me. Can't wait to see the post surgery

And as for the license plate, are you allowed to display it inside, bottom left of the winshield?

Who cares? Front plates are over rated.

It's the light shining on it. It's symmetrical. I thought the exact same thing when I saw the photo.

This is exactly my thought on it.

The cars I see at car shows in Houston have them inside passenger side windshield. I'll definitely get pulled over by the state troopers if I didn't. They can be picky. You know, "Son, did you know you were going one mph over the speed limit?" kind of thing.

I couldn't help it. I did mount it today. I just have to connect the fender well to the bottom of the bumper. This is the part I wanted to do a write up about. If not other customers will be as annoying as I was with all the emails to MAX2DAMAX. BTW, thanks to MAX2DAMAX for being a great guy and helping me with this project.

looks pretty decent. def better then stock that's for sure. i like!

too bad the paint doesn't match. also the sides are shiny but the front isn't...what's up with that? maybe it's just the pics...where did you have it sprayed? i'd be pissed. looks like they used a cheap 1 stage paint on it.

edit: see how the hood is shiny and the bumper looks all 'hazy'?

Less than 5 minutes to remove OE bumper. I could have my two year old do it.

40 minutes mounting so 40+5 = done

Dude, it's gotta be the photos cause my best friend and I have looked at it from every angle and we both agree the color matches. Now, my car needs to be cleaned and waxed and the bumper have fresh paint. So...

the bumper has fresh paint but isn't shiny and looks obviously a shade off in pics? just comapre it to the hoods or fenders...

i don't understand how a camera would make the same paint look so vastly different on bodyparts right next to each other...

but! i'll take your word for it

nice mod.

I appreciate you looking out for me. I'm happy.

Too bad we live so far away or I would have you come over to take a look.

The camera is a Canon Rebel XTi with an 85mm 1.4 lens. Top of the line setup.

Thanks for the props though.

I know in some of Chernmax's and JSmith's photos the bumper looks a little different. Then you see other photos of the same two cars and it matches. I know aging of paint, brand of paint and primer and having two different kinds on two parts can look a tad different.

Example: Fenders painted with PPG and bumper with Pitsburg Paint.

But I just don't see it.
