Front Suspension Noise!!

I've been hearing a knock noise from the right side suspension when I go over bumps or back up. I still haven't been able to figured out where is coming from. I checked the strut but it's fine.

Any ideas where to go next?

How did you check the strut? It's probably the strut mount.

For sure there is something loose on the suspension. If I push down on the strut there is not noise but if I put the car in reverse or go over a bump I can hear it.

BETO6700,
I have the same problem with my 07 SE. My advice is take it back to the stealership and everytime you take it there keep on telling them about the noise. That's what my service advisor instructed me to do.

I'm sorry but I really don't understand why people say try the search button... This is a Forum/Blog and its for people that want to share their experience with there car or get help (so I thought)... The search isn't even that great.. When I use the search it brings up all sorts of things other than what you've request...

Anyway bro, I get all sorts of noises when going over bumps.. I change my axles 2 weeks ago ( still noises).. I'll be changing my struts this weekend!! Someone told me that it could be strut mounts...

If you are under warranty, take it to the dealer.

Check all bolts on the suspension and steering. Make sure they are all tight.

You get chastised for asking a question in someone else's thread and then for starting your own thread and not searching. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I agree to a a certain point. I am involved with many different forums (moderate 2) and there is always one or two (sometimes many) users telling someone to use the search. The search feature works at times IF the person searching knows how the particular forum search feature looks at data. A tutorial on how to search the forum would be nice. Maybe there is one, I didn't search for one.

On the other hand, it does get a little annoying when someone starts a thread on a particular topic when there are 5 other similar threads on the first page of the "New Posts" page (Not saying that is the case here).

I urks me for the most as there are many answers to your question. I know this because Ive had to deal with all these noises you speak of. Do me a favor...before changing your struts, unless you really want to, change your endlinks and let me know. We are a forum and we are here to help, but to start a thread on a suspension noise when I know there are gazillions of threads on this gets to me sometime. I dont post often on my BMW because I search. Not attacking here and if your search came up short, I apologize

Dude, are you the end all be all of answers...dont get mad because someone posted a different answer. i didnt say it wasnt a strut mount, but I am saying I dont think it is a strut mount. The mount is there as a turning cushion, not as a dampening device. If there is a noise on turning the vehicle stationary then yes it can be the strut mount. i happen to believe that it is the endlinks and much easier to replace than the mount. Easy on your response...if everyone believed that there was 1 answer to everyone's question, it would be a boring forum but w/e

I fixed my struts via search button. I even created a thread that included videos of step by step do-it-yourself instructions on replacing your suspension to help the community out.

To the OP, if your not sure, replace all of it. (end links, sway bar, struts, shocks, springs and strut mounts) Then you'll have full situational awareness.

I'm no mechanic, but this has happened on a few cars I've owned and it might be the CV joint that has went bad. You have to let them drive it bro. When it's on the rack they miss things sometimes because the damage is not visually noticeable and there is no weight resting on the suspension since it would be just hanging free. I learned this the hard way back when I had Mazda millennia. Take it to a shop you trust and let them drive it to see if it will help them pinpoint the issue.
