Whistling noise
This morning driving to school i noticed a whistling noise at around 85 mph but i am not sure where it is coming from. This is the first time that I have heard it. Anyone one else experience this or know what it may be?

Ohh dear.....I really hope your car is not over 50k-60k miles and you are now started experiencing timing chain tensioners crapp. Try to look around all four tires and belts first.

I have what I describe as a whistling noise. Mine occurs at ~30mph but seems to be more tied to the RPM at ~2000. I think it is something resonating on the engine or exhaust. I've tightened some of the heat shield bolts to fix it but it is still there. I've heard others say it might have something to do with a particular after-market grille. See if you can re-create it at a particular RPM or speed.

haha...from what i heard it kept on whistling so i would let go of the accelerator to slow down so im really not sure how long it keeps going for at those speeds. i didn't really pay attention to RPM but i do know it starts around 85

grab a passenger and ask them to help listen for the whistle. check windows and doors to make sure the weatherstripping is tight. if you find the whistling coming from a certain door, start taping off areas of the door/window to try to eliminate the whistle.
you could also try driving with the windows down to hear if its coming from the engine. one member mentioned the timing chain tensioners. it will sound much more like a whine that increases with the rpm. it is the secondary timing chain tensioner, there is a TSB.
