I'm somewhat on the fence over this one but in hindsight there may not be a whole lot of companies but anything you want to do to a 6th Gen can be done and has the parts available to do it not including customizing. More parts will become available as older gens head to the junkyard. Also take into consideration the normal market buyers of Maxima's are not modders. We're the sick few!!!

True, Most people driving the 6thgen/6.5gen are not interested in modding. You can put dubs on anything so I don't consider that modding. But I've been hanging around since 06 and the aftermarket went from almost nothing to something. Can't use the CVT as a reason to not like the 6.5gen because people are jumping all over the 09 Maxima with the same CVT only.

CVT was my main complaint but, I didn't like the rounded style of the 6th gen.
I said 4th because that's what I have now, and being an under privileged college student, that's all I can afford....Everyone has their preferences those were just mine...

Btw, i'm not just here for the 4th gens, I like every Maxima from the VG30E powered 85' to the new....Especially the new 7th gen w/ the modded VQ35.....Look don't single me out, i'm here to learn, teach, talk and have fun just like everybody else..... My 95' is just all I got to work w/....Not to mention that my car has been in the family since I picked it off of the Dixie Nissan lot for my aunt when I was a kid Hell the car means something to me, but don't think it's all I'm about...thanks...

When comparing styling I think the fourth gen was the best in its time. I put the 5th gen as ugliest overall. Some people don't like the 6th gen styling and that's fine, they are entitled to there opinion. Nissan obviously disagreed and designed the current gen Altima in a very similar manner to the 6th gen max. The 03 Altima didn't take many styling cues from the 5th gen, if any. Thats the way it should be the lower model should aspire to the higher model.

Styling wise everyones gonna have their own opinion...but u cant come in here and say the 4th even a modded 4th would get slapped around by a stock 6th...not to mention how everything is gonna be completely outdated...not trying to hate on ur car and I understand ur situation but I have to speak up for the 6th gen. Prior to the 6th I never looked twice at a MAX...never bought into the whole 4DSC crap

In its stock form if i had to choose between the 4th or 5th gen today based purely on style personally i would get the 03 before a 95... but that's just my $.02... Mayb i'm too young

I like my 6th gen style minus of course the front bumper and side turning lights(which i got rid of.... wasn't a fan, but not a deal breaker). 265 hp stock in a daily driver for how much with all the luxury and space i could want. I'm loving it...The fact you all created mods for this car is a bonus i'm extremely greatful for. Personally i don't need a track car... i just want my whip to turn heads and still push me back in the seat when i'm accelerating from 85 mph passing people on the highway..... For me 6th gen max = mission accomplished

but i digress (3-4 yrs i'm buying something else)... in the meantime i'm debating going old school with Suicide doors (modding vs. resale value)... Don't knock it till you see it

I got ya, and I'm not downing the 6th gen, but just like every car they have their flaws, and every driver has preferences. But I'm more than fairly sure if it was a 6th passed to me instead of the 4th gen I'd feel the same as you guys, besides, it's still a Maxima...

It does seem like earlier maximas had more zip in the low end.

Hi, ive owned a 2nd , 3rd. and 6th gen. my o8 se gets so much compliments. on stlye and especially when anyone sits in the passenger seat. i think the general public especilly the mechanicly challenge people will always underestimate 6 gen because they are sleek and build for only for the smart and sophisticated who khows what the **** they want. everybody is suprise of its power and handing and style all the time. its a great bang for the buck in my opinion. it doesnt carry a lot of crappy options (like a sticker saying that Im the flagship or nissan) on the bumper.really because it doesnt need to. its a not bull**** car. and if u look at the overall , it beats all the other cars in its category (accords camrys etc. not ot mentoion impalas or other pos.) I love my baby especially the rear end. so damn sexxy.

Today on the freeway, i had a 5th gen speed up next to me. He came out of no where and stayed behind and side rear of my car for a few minutes. I am assuming he was checking out my car.

He then gave me a thumbs up as he took an off ramp and passed by.

He had rims, tinted tails, debadged and custom exhaust... So i know he knew I was cool!!!!
