Throttle body problem

Last week my "check engine soon" light was on, so I took the max to the local shop. They diagnosed the problem as being something with the throttle body caused by the intake. I didn't think the intake had anything to do with it as i have had it on for 4 months now with no problem. I'm thinking the throttle body might just be dirty. What do you think?

Well, only way to know is to pull her out and have a look...giver her a clean with TB cleaner. Your cold air intake might not be secure either...I mean is might be letting crap in and dirtying up your TB...check that as well-seals and filter.

To expand on this... has anyone cleaned the throttle body on their 6th gen without removing the whole thing?

a couple years ago when I was a bigger idiot, I just sprayed the cleaner in there and wiped down with some lint-free towels (inside and out). Found out later though that could be a bad idea due to the possibility of damaging some sensors in there. Nothing bad happened when I cleaned it that way though so I guess I lucked out.
