Dual Fogs on 6th Gen w/ 07-08 Bumper

Whats up Org?

First of all I have an 07 bumper that I'm planning on swapping out with my stock bumper. Upon doing that, I want to go HID with my stock fogs (in the headlight housings) on my 6th gen and add fogs in HID to the 07 bumper. I already have HID headlights.

I'm going to be buying from Operatic and had spoken to him about how the connection process would be.

I had proposed purchasing an H3 & H11 kit and then connecting those, but splicing the H11 wiring into the H3 since I didnt know where to connect the H11. Then I realized that may not be enough power for one ballast, or I would miss connecting a wire or something. To me that seemed simple, but now it hardly seems it would work.

Operatic proposed I just get an H11 kit and then T-Tap into my factory fog light connection OR use the plug from my old fog lights that plugs into the fog light connection and t-tap into those. He was uncertain how the H11 bulb would work as the H3 bulbs use an external ground wire (you can see a ground wire inside of your current H3 housings). He suggested that I ground the ground wires to the chassis.

All that seemed like Klingon to me, because I"m a total amateur when it comes to wiring. I dont know what T-Tap is nor do I know how to ground wires to my chassis.

My question is, has anyone done this mod--swapped stock bumper for 07 and converted both sets of fogs to HID? If so, is there an easy way to do this and how would I go about doing so? Alternatively, would Operatic's suggestion be the only plausible way to have both sets of fogs working properly? Thanks in advance for your help guys.

what i did and would recommend is to get a h11 hid kit and get a h11 relay harness. what you will do it take the h11 ground and hot wire and splice it into the oem h3 connector. that way, the power is drawn from the battery and on/off operation controlled by the oem fogs.

my upcoming plans is to do the opposite of what you are doing. i just left the oem h3 bulbs in there with the intention to swap it out later for 3k hids.

I would get the KP fog module. You can wire the new bumper fogs straight up and be able to control them with the stock switch (once you combine the wiring) I have been running my lower yellow fogs with my new HID's (from Operatic as well) and it looks awesome...
