Wait until you get the Cattman headers, and rid yourself of the restrictive stock manifolds and cats!

You started out at 15.7?? Either you have a lead foot or something else is wrong with your car. Even 18.5 is pretty low. It's pretty hard to get that bad of mileage in a maxima.

Are you relying on the trip computer or are you calculating MPG by hand? (miles driven from full divided by gallons it takes to fill it back up) I know the trip computer in the 5.5gen is usually off a little, but I'm not sure about the 6gen.

You must be talking about the manual maximas and I agree. But automatics are a whole different story..

What set up did you use? What website did you order your exhaust from, how much, what size, etc.

My computer shows 22.5mpg. I am on the interstate about half the time and in downtown Columbia, SC the other half.

Stock here... I get 18mpg. Mostly commute on slow highways (thanks to heavy traffic), and city driving.

MPG is mostly about how you drive your car. I love to feel the throttle aswell but if MPG is what you want, rent a prius and learn how to drive to get good MPG. Personally I am somewhere in the middle at about 24.3 on average. If you are flooring it at every red light you are getting the milege you deserve.

prove me wrong and i am happy. i know for certain intake and exhaust do nothing. with the computers everything is recalculated back to OEM specs. now if you chip then that's different.

If you reset your MPG calc. every fillup you will be more accurate. I do the math each fillup and rather close. I never get less than 20. I also know how to drive i still reline on highway at times, but stop and go is where u lose it if you are always accelerating and braking hard.

I drove 500+ miles on the highway the other day and got 30+ MPG for the whole trip.

It could only make sense that certain mods make some difference. Less suffocating for the system. MY problem is the when I do a mod, I tend to want to use it... so it ends up worse MPG.

I live in New York and get 18 mpg on average. Even better when I switch on the economy display and watch my foot. 100% stock thus far. Thinking of getting 20" enkei performance rims (LSF) soon.

I never rely on the computer for actual MPG. I do the math every week.

Before I installed the Cattman headers, I'd be lucky to see 20mpg on any given week.

Now, a tank is getting me much farther, and I have to really try hard to get less than 24mpg.

Mixed highway/city driving... 75%ish city.
