CEL after NWP spacer/VIAS block plate install

So last saturday me boy Chris and I did some work on my baby. We installed the following:

NWP spacers (thanks to Aaron92SE)
NWP VIAS block plate (thanks to Aaron92SE)
SSIM w/minor polish work (thanks to Felix 2themax05)
New NGK platinum spark plugs
New PCV valve
New Fujita air filter
Mobil1 Fully Synthetic 5W-30
Mobil1 M-108 oil filter

After all of this the car runs good except for the slightly high idle and the service engine soon light. I think i may have screwed up the car when i cleaned the throttle body with brake cleaner and YES i did move the butterfly slightly, not alot. The code autozone pulled for me was P0102 , i believe.
Faulty MAF, low input to the MAF, Large vaccum leak or something else but i forgot what it was. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to fix my car now???

I was thinking a lean code, I had something similar after installing spacers and fujita and it was lean. Have you just tried to clear the CEL and see if it come back?

also, make sure you tighten down the block plate according to the instructions. when I did my install I was fine, but I took off the block palte and re-installed it and threw a code. I loosened it and tightened it down to spec and was code free after that. I would go back and recheck the way you bolted down the manifolds to be positive you don't have a small vacuum leak somewhere. if that's not it you might have fubarred your maf when trying to clean it

When installing multiply air breathing mods, your ECU gets freaky since the A/F numbers no longer add up and will throw a CEL. Take your car to an automotive store with an OBD-II reader, have them read the codes then erase them, the codes that come back report on, the ones that don't, you should be good to go...

Yes we did clear the CEL and it stayed off for about 8 hours and then came back on.

Block plate was torqued to specs and in the correct order and used RTV high temp black gasket maker. 100% there are no leaks.

Yea im on the same page as you Chris...Autozone pulled P0102 :Low circuit to MAF...cleared the code and stayed off for a few hours and then CEL came back on. Will go back to have the code pulled again. Maybe its a different one this time.

my guess would be that, if you have no vac leaks, you fubard your maf when you tried to clean it....those things are so temperamental anyways that you might have done it with the brake cleaner

What is an SSIM?

Why did you go with NGK Platinums...aren't the Iridiums better?

SSIM = "secret sauce intake manifold"... the shelf is cut out, and the inside of the intake manifold is smoothed out, for, apparently, better air flow...

I've heard arguments from both sides, of course... as to its benefits/drawbacks.

m_turner_02, when you re-installed the VIAS plate, what code were you getting?

^^I don't really recall off the top of my head, but it had something to do with being lean/rich(I don't remember and get the two confused) I tried the idle air relearn and all of that, and then loosened everything up and retorqued it to spec and then remembered that I did the vias "wrong" and torqued that down according to aaron's instruction sheet and have been fine ever since.

The code i still have is for a high idle. When i cleaned my throttle body i messed up the butterfly, therefore is is stuck slightly open at idle. Need a new throttle body to fix the problem but havent got 1 yet.

I'm almost possitive EddyMaxx from nycmaximas cleaned his throttle body and touched his butterfly and had a nightmare with CEL's. You should talk to him and find out what he did.

Might want to check this site as well (if you haven't already):

www.car-parts.com

Looks like there is a couple in Brooklyn for $150. J and V Auto Parts 1-718-241-7809.

One in Lindenhurst for $100. J and C Auto Salvage 1-800-513-9021

Looks like 2 (one 2004 and one 2005) here East Coast Auto Salvage, Inc. (1-800-669-1746) but says to call for price.
