Hard Start-up

Got a question....

Lately (for the past 2 weeks) whenever I start up my 07 max after its been off for a couple off hours or overnight it seems to have a slightly rough time starting.

It always starts, but just seems to have a rough time doing so.... Other than that, if I've driven it and the engine is warm, its starts as normal...

Any suggestions? Thanks!

How cold is it in Jersey? What type of oil meaning 5w30, 10w30, etc. are you using? How many miles are on your car? Do you have a stock battery? Why are you using such big font? These are all important questions that we need answers to in order to help you figure this thing out.

These are all good questions, my bad for leaving the info out.

1. FONT = I'm just crazy and went for it, no reason.

2. Jersey is not cold at all lately, lately its been around 65-90...

3. Max has 43K on her

4. Using stock battery

5. Using Mobil 1 5w 30 full synthetic

6. I should also add that just 5 weeks ago, I had the stealership do an oil change (this time i brought my own for about $40 cheaper from Walmart]). They also cleaned the fuel injectors and cleaned the battery too. I think they also flushed/replaced the transmission fluid....

THANKS again!!

I have 45k on mine...

I use Valvoline Full Synthetic.

I put a brand new battery in last week hoping it was a battery issue. Not the case, for I have the same issue as Ancolom13.

I would go to the dealership and start up a couple maximas and see if they are starting similar, maybe it's normal what you are experiencing. Maybe the Stealership hooked you up so you would break down and come back. They need to stay in business you know.

Try "Jumping the car, even tho it doesnt need one, If it starts fine then. That means its your battery going although it doesnt seem like battery. Check oil levels. 43K is too early for a starter but it does happen.

Yeah, I don't think it is the starter...she starts fine after the first one. Something is off - fire, air or fuel. It will probably have to go to the dealership to actually find out what the issue is. They need to hook it up to their computer and then fire it up. Then they will be able to pinpoint it.

I think so..we should be still under the power train warranty. I am thinking it is a sensor and the ECU is all mucked up trying to compensate.

It may be the cause of many problems. Battery, ignition coil, spark plug terminals, starter, etc. For your sake I hope your problem is only minor electrical, because if it isn't... Be ready to spend money on mechanical parts. Good luck!!

AWESOME videos!!! Did the in-cabin filter about 6K miles ago, but need to do the sea foam!! If I don't have the OBE2 code reader, the check engine light/codes will eventually go away, right? About how long after?

Thanks again!!

yes they will go away but you can go to autozone and ask them to clear the codes or you can drive it about 20 miles and then if you still have the cel disconnect the battery for a couple minutes then reconnect and it should be gone.

Used to have hard starts after the car was sitting for 1+ hours. Fuel pump was the problem.
