Gear Shft Light?

I had to disasemble the shift cover because I spilled a big gulp soda in the gear box a few months ago. I was experiencing the shift sticking when I shifted from Park,Reverse etc.Underneath the cover I noticed a small light bulb coated with yellow tape,do anyone know what this bulb is for, because mine does not light up. I've had the car for almost two years and have never noticed my shifter lighted up.If it does suppose to light up do anyone know the bulb part #?

The bulb is bad, just take it out, go to an auto store and get a new one. Any color you want will work. It lights up the gear indicator panel by the shift ****.

Thanks for the advice. The bulb was a pain in the *** to get out, it was wedged in the socket so tight.I accidently busted it but I used my alligator pliers to pull it out. Also the bulb part # is 158.Peace!
