Thanks. They are IPCW LED's. Pretty common on this site. I got them for $295 shipped, and they sent me a $100 gas rebate card. I bought them off of EBAY from Streetpros.com.

The factory exhaust tips are welded on the pipes of the 6.5 Gen Max.

So if you really must have those tips, you will have to get the entire muffler/tailpipe assembly.

Pry off the current tips, and then go to autozone or any autoparts store and buy 4 new chrome tips, and hammer them on

New tips cost about 25bucks for one, that was at autozone

I dont think autozone tips would really do him justice.

I have a 6.5, and I'll agree from the back they look far better then that of the 6 gens. However when you look at the car from the side, they still have that phony taper from the pip size up to the tip size. What would be ideal is if they were the same diameter from the muffler to the tip...to get that you're going to go custom.

Also as pointed out, the 6.5 tips are welded on. I like them personally, but do wish they weren't quite so phony looking.

i think the 6 gen's are a disappointment, and wanted the 6.5's too. anybody have uneven tailpipes? my left muffler is noticibly higher up than the right, and from looking at other maxy's, the lower one is correct, and the left one is too high. how is that possible?

Mine is the same way. There is a previous thread about this. I will try to find it and post the link.

My 02 altima 3.5 was like that, and once we put it on a lift, we saw that the muffler was attached to the pipe with a u-bolt. If you loosen it, the muffler becomes adjustable up and down. Try this, and see if you can get it to line up.

To the OP, i would go custom. this is what I was going to do to my 02 altima. Magnaflow makes a really nice exhaust tip that I was going to have installed, but I never got around to it.
