engine light

engine light

my engine light is on its not flashing just a steady light i get a o2 sensor code but everything seems fine anyone has any ideas what it can be thanks

Just cause everything "seems" fine, doesn't mean that it actually is. Try deleting the code and if it comes back then replace the sensor.

Follow the link below for instructions on clearing the code if you do not have a code scanner. It is listed as being for the 350Z, but I have used it on my Max.

That will reset it ... not give you the code. There are a few key steps at the end that are different for checking the actual code, vs resetting it.

IMO, the nomenclature for getting the code (counting blinks / using your elft arm, and your right pinky, etc. ) is a little bit on the complicated / hard to follow side, so using a code reader is far more convenient in this case.

As I stated, this is for clearing the code to see if it comes back. The codes can be read for free at your nearest auto parts store which it sounds like was already done since he has the code. I for one would not want to waste the money for a code reader when you can get it done for free.

Go to AutoZone and they will scan it for you. I'm not sure P230 is the right code... let us know!
