Dude something is wrong with your car or terribly wrong with the way you drive. unless you do 0-60 between every light i don't see how you get 10 MPG.

I am in the city too and know all about stop and go but 10 MPG is waaaaaay below anything normal. Even when I was constantly mashing on the pedal i was getting like 14.6 or the like in strickly city driving.

I'd sell the car if I was only getting about 200 miles on a tank.

I agree with what others have said. Your engine will only run as efficiently as YOU the owner let it. I just seafoamed (watch cherns youtube video, Thanks Chernmax!) plus any other bits you can do. Such as spark plugs, wires, air filter, and try to calculate your gas mileage without using the "mpg meter" as you will find the results much different than what the onboard computer says. If the engine is too new that may effect your mileage but that seems too low. Just for reference I have an 04 W/ 114,000 and get 24/31 easy. You mind as well drive an expedition if your getting 11.6?

Does that STP fuel cleaner actually work? Oh by the way it can also be a bad o2 sensor reading rich that's what me car is probably doing cause I'm getting the same mileage pretty much with my 95 maxima. But yours practically newer than mine that's ridiculous.

yep thats what i get about 200 miles to the tank, Im not even that hard on the car, u know here and there i play with the paddle shifts, etc..Its normal btw, i have a friend who also owns a 7th gen and he said the mpg sucks..he gets about 200 miles to the tank in city driving

I second that i'm getting 220 on my '08, full tank and I drive in the Bronx. On long trips she does pretty good on cruise control. I wish I could get 21 mpg like Edmunds states.

I don't know how this is possible. I admit sometimes I have a heavy foot, but def not even to bring me to these mpgs. If the 7th gen is that bad, im getting a hybrid!

Maintenance how to's????

I just bought an 05 se last year and I'm not sure what major maintenance issues I have to worry about.

I've had honda's and mitsu's prior to my max and I knew that timing belts, spark plugs w/wires were just some of the things I had to worry about. I'm definitely not a mechanic and usually rely on other peoples opinions.

Can anyone help me with some basic info for maintaining my maxima?

I'm sure this is obvious but with that harsh mpg, let your car warm up. And seriously check for any fuel leaks.....
