$20 every 2 days? thats like just over 5 gallons per day.

how far do you travel on a full tank? and, dont go by the fuel mileage indicator.

Did you recently buy it used?

Your friend was probably talking about STP Fuel Cleaner.

The "Complete" version is $5 at Pep Boys this week (just bought it).

This improves gas mileage, engine performance, etc. Essentially a combination of all their products.

Do you have a Check Engine Light on? It sounds like you have issues far in excess of what any fuel additive can take care of. Does the car have any modifications like a flashed ECM?

check engine light isnt on, and none modifications. the car was bought used in october. and it seemed like the previous owner "abused" the car but i had them put a whole new engine in the car because it was making a noise (sounded like a fujita intake with a oem intake lol). i do have extended warranty from nissan tho in case i have to take it in.

Do you go by the display, or do you actually figure out the mileage from miles driven since last fill-up to present fill-up? Do you reset the mileage indicator after each fill-up?
Keep in mind the more HP you use, the less MPG you get. Heavy foot--lots of gas.
Is the engine you put in stock? A higher-performance engine will suck more gas.
Have you checked the mileage at steady cruising on the freeway? At a steady 65-70 MPH, you should get 28-30 MPG.
Have you checked tire pressure? Low pressure will hurt mileage also.

I'd be thrilled to see 28-30mpg on the highway at a steady 65-70. I have an 07SE w/CVT and I see about 23-25 on the highway with steady cruising. With mostly city driving, I'm seeing about 17 this spring, was only getting 14-15 throughout the winter.

I have an 07 and I get about 28-30 on the highway. Mixed driving i get about 22-23 mpg. Do you use premium gas? Is your air filter clean? Do you have a lead foot? Also for the OP, is that new motor broken in yet? That may be a factor. An engine not fully broken in may not get optimal gas mileage. Also, premium gas will get you the best mileage.

Intake was just recently changed to NISMO, so air filter isn't a problem. Premium gas only, since I bought it 9 months ago. Don't have a lead foot, drive it nice and easy. Only thing working against me is my drive to work is only 2 miles one way, so I know the car doesn't warm up properly. This being said, I averaged 14-15mpg through the winter and am currently pulling down about 17mpg.

Well some agencies have a take home cruiser program. My dad was a deputy sheriff and he pretty much drove his cruiser everywhere. He kept that thing all the time.

That is terrible mileage. If its not the car (no check engine light...) that leaves the driver. Maybe time to slow down

Yeah, I'm about the same as you. Highway mileage isn't as great in this 07 either. I'm around 23-24 cruzing anywhere from 70-75, with zero ledfooting. One thing I've noticed, I get better mileage using my foot then with cruze control on...but it's not much better.

Check ur oil level mayb low can cause low miliege. I had prb wit my car 2 day later engine making tapping noise due to low oil now time to buy used motor.

press then hold in the MPG button to reset it.

reset your odometer once you fill it. drive it a day after the gas light comes on.
Fill up.
Look at odo.
Divide miles by the gallons you just put in.

Sounds about right. I had 28 MPG on a 10 hr highway trip. Definitely possible. On top of that, I use regular gas (87).

You guys getting less than 27mpg highway using your cruise control have a problem...I don't get less than 32mpg at 65 mph. Check tires and everything else the people above mentioned (oil, air filter, etc.) I get about 16mpg even if I floor it everywhere...less than that is only possible if I'm at wide-open-throttle up a hill. Maybe the CVT is the issue, I have a 5spd auto with 81k miles on it, so my engine's definitely broken in, maybe that's an issue as well. I would have the stealership run diagnostics, or maybe it's just your driving style...

I'm getting much better mileage with a new air filter. Switched to the K&N drop in. I went from the above to about 26.5 at 75. I understand that the 07-08s get worse mileage becuase of the CVT believe it or not. I'd have expected better, but the rating for these cars is like 26, where the earlier 6th gens are rated at 28 with the same motor. I'm happy to be above 26 that's for sure...

I think that is also because they changed the way that fuel economy is calculated, IIRC.

ouch!

I used to do around 14-15 MPG but now with mixed driving and lighter rims I average 18-19 in the city.
