How long do you plan to keep your car?

The 6th Gen Maximas have been around for almost 6 years now. Many of you have done lots of mods and spent lots of money on your baby. Im curious how long you plan to keep your ride? A few months? A year? A few years more? Lifetime?

Great thread Deus! I am keeping mine for another 3-5 years, Iv'e got almost 5K into her right now and have Cattman headers coming as soon as Brian starts production. I would even be willing to go so far as to say I would replace the engine if I'm still enjoying her!

I havent done much for mods besides Audio and rims, but I plan to add more mods and keep it for 6-7 more years, then move in to an M45 but I just might keep it longer and use it as a second car. I love nissan and plan to stay wiht this brand,.

I plan keeping it till it wont go no more. I only will put about 4k - 6k at the most a year on it so it should still be in great condition. I'm not the kind that likes to get lots of different cars. I've had my truck for 8 yrs and dont plan on getting rid of it. And I hate having a car payment.

Got over 60k and have less than 2years of payment left. I want to keep it for a while because I dont want to deal with more car payments. But something can always change because I love the new Audi's (A5, A6, & S5).

I plan to keep mine until the 8th gens come out. I want to be amongst the first to ride the 8th Gen body style. I wonder how those (the 8th Gen) would look like. Any ideas? Any prototypes available? Post pics if you know.

Until it turns to dust. Or until I win the lottery. Or until Megan Fox offers her body for it.

I have never keep a car for more than 3 years, I've had this one for 5 1/2 already. I usually get sick of my cars or they break down and neither have happened yet!! PLus I just reinvented it last year (black out)

Almost at 90k and the warranty is almost up, we'll see how it goes!!!

I always like to show the progression of my car, here you go!

I figure I ought to chime in on my own thread. I have had my Maxima over 4 1/2 years and love every minute of it. I tend to keep cars a long time. i still have my first car I ever owned - a 1975 Honda Civic that went from stock to racing to streetable racing. Motor blew as usual so its been sitting a while. Ill probably keep the Maxima for life as its a great combination of performance and "practicalness" combined with the fun of a 6 speed manual.

I love this car and looking at how cars are going now in the way of looks and performance and mpg, I think I will keep this one for a while. If engine blows and the Turbo Diesel Nissan is putting out next year fits, then I will put that in. If Level 10 can make a transmission that's unbreakable then it will go in and should outlast the car itself. So keeping it would be a good investment. So far it's been good to me besides the Tranny and well if I can get that under control than it will be forever with this one. Besides if some cool new gadget comes out for an automobile we here on the forum will find a way to make it work.

I've had mine for 4 1/2 years and my son is turnin 14 next month so I am thinking of keeping this and letting him have it in a few years. I will then move up to the Infiniti M.

I bought the car for $14,500 (~60k km)

I got a trade in Value at an Acura Dealership of $15,500 (~90k km)

(they are selling the car for like $18k I saw on there website! )

Traded for a managers demo 09 TSX which was reduced from $35,000 to $28,000 cuz it had 16k kms

Nissan couldnt even come close to matching this deal with an 09 Max or Alti...they wanted to give me around $12k for my car...so now I guess I am a Honda Ricer lol but I will be back with Nissan once i get a 370Z
